As Democrats push back against President Trump on his decision to repeal DACA, their arguments become more and more desperate. On the surface, it appears Democrats are willing to allow the interests of 800,000 people usurp the sovereignty of 320 million Americans. In reality, things are much worse than that – because keeping DACA is well within the interests of the Democratic Party when it comes to gaining and retaining power.
While liberals are defending DACA on the basis of compassion, that’s a secondary reason for supporting the unconstitutional executive order. Conservative actor James Woods nailed that fact today, summarizing the Left’s true intentions in a single tweet:
#DACA is a yet another voter fraud scam by the Democrats, pure and simple. #DemocratLarvae

In fact, President Donald Trump acknowledged as much back in 2013:
Immigration reform really changes the voting scales for the Republicans—for the worse!

Re: immigration. Do the Republicans not realize that Dems will get 100% of 11 million votes no matter what they do?

For anyone who needs a refresher, DACA stands for “deferred action for childhood arrivals.” In theory, the order was intended to provide relief to those who came to the United States illegally as children, so they wouldn’t pay for the mistakes of their parents. Noble intentions perhaps, but it’s also an order that incentivized more illegal immigration. After all, can’t foreign youth simply come to America illegally, then claim to have been brought over by their parents at an even younger age?
Of course. That’s why, according to the National Review, from 2012, when DACA was announced, to 2014, unaccompanied minors apprehensions increased 490 percent, 444 percent, and 610 percent for El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras, respectively.
While Trump and his supporters will undoubtedly be branded “racist” for their support of tough policies on illegal immigration, don’t forget that it wasn’t all too long enough that enforcing our nation’s immigration laws was a bipartisan issue. When it came to voting on the 2006 Secure Fence Act, which authorized building a barrier along the southern border with Mexico, the bill passed with the support of 26 Democrats, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Chuck Schumer.
“The bill before us will certainly do some good,” Obama said on the Senate floor in defense of the Act. He praised the Act, claiming it would build “better fences and better security along our borders” and would “help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country.”
What changed since then? Perhaps the realization that for the Democratic Party, the more illegals, the better. How often have you heard that we can’t deport illegals because there are fifteen million of them? It’s a defense that makes no sense, as 20 years down the line they’ll just revise the argument to state that we can’t deport illegals because there are twenty million of them. They want illegal immigration to become an uncontrollable problem so amnesty becomes the only “solution.”
It’s hardly a solution for the nation. But for a Party that lost over 1,000 seats at the state, local, and federal level during Barack Obama’s presidency, it certainly is for them.
