Had this happened to Michelle Obama, the cries of everything ranging from misogyny to racism would have played far and wide in the media. Had it happened to Hillary Clinton, the misogyny charges would have been just as prevalent. Since it happened to Ivanka Trump, nobody will care.
Ivanka Trump paid a visit to students at Norwalk Early College Academy at Norwalk High School in Connecticut on Monday, and parents concerned that their precious snowflakes couldn’t handle the encounter pulled students out of school.
Way to prepare them for life in the real world, parents.
Those who were able to attend the event, also featuring IBM CEO Ginni Rometty, received skills training in #STEM and computer sciences.
The horror!
Parents upset with her role as a White House adviser pulled their children out of class, citing the lack of notice to prepare their snowflakes. And who could blame them, just look at their terrified faces in the above photos.
News 12 New Jersey says the lack of advance notice may have been due to security concerns.
“This should have been brought to our attention, although I do understand security reasons,” one parent said. “I think we should have had the choice to send our child to school or keep them home.”
“Under normal circumstances, a visit from the President’s daughter would be entirely exciting for ALL students,” another parent writes on social media. “Unfortunately, given the current administration’s record on bigotry and racism, the choice to have her as a guest in a diverse community is clearly controversial.”

Board of Education member Bryan Meek defended the visit.
“IBM is looking to get significant funding to significantly expand these types of opportunities for young adults,” he wrote in one Facebook group. “It’s amazing how polarizing things are that a sitting first daughter can’t even try to help without being ridiculed and demeaned.”
How are the children supposed to cope with people they disagree with in the real world, if the parents can’t even do the same?
