The United States has denied a visa to Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, barring him from attending a United Nations Security Council meeting in New York on Thursday.
Zarif has notably been advised over the years by John Kerry on how to circumvent the Trump administration.
Zarif’s attendance at the Council meeting had been scheduled prior to a US rocket attack that killed top Iranian terrorist General Qassem Soleimani, a man with the blood of hundreds of Americans on his hands.
There is little doubt Zarif would have used the spotlight to criticize the United States over the military strike before a sympathetic United Nations audience on American soil.
Reuters reports that “the United States is generally required to allow access to the United Nations for foreign diplomats,” but the administration claimed it can deny visas for “security, terrorism and foreign policy” reasons.
Wow. US Gov has denied Visa to #Iran FM Zarif to address UN this week. UN was informed of decision Monday (hint: Pompeo ? Guterres on Mon.)
Zarif was sanctioned last September but was allowed to NY after in 2019 https://t.co/3yE9N4ehqo

Had Been Advised To Wait Out Trump
Zarif’s speech before the United Nations, likely filled with anti-American vitriol, would have been cheered by the attending body and Democrat lawmakers alike.
Now, he won’t get that chance to rant against America in the heart of New York City. What a shame.
Zarif has previously and repeatedly been advised on how to circumvent the Trump administration over the last few years by former Secretary of State John Kerry.
Kerry admitted in an interview in September of 2018 to conducting rogue diplomacy with the top Iranian official, unauthorized by the government.
“I met with him [Zarif] at a conference in Norway,” Kerry said. “I think I saw him in a conference in Munich at the World Economic Forum. So I’ve probably seen him three or four times.”
At those meetings, he urged Iran’s leaders to “wait out the Trump Administration.”

Saudi Arabia and others in OPEC will more than make up the Oil Flow difference in our now Full Sanctions on Iranian Oil. Iran is being given VERY BAD advice by @JohnKerry and people who helped him lead the U.S. into the very bad Iran Nuclear Deal. Big violation of Logan Act?

What Zarif Might Have Told the UN
We needn’t look too far into the past to surmise what Kerry’s friend may have told attendees at the United Nations.
This past June, Zarif claimed an American drone downed by Iran had violated airspace while his colleagues on the Iran Supreme National Security Council claimed the “U.S. has no right” to respond to their show of force.
We’re certain he would have railed against the United States claiming we ‘have no right’ to go after a terrorist responsible for the deaths of over 600 American military members.
Democrats would have cheered him. The United Nations would have cheered him. And the mullahs in Iran would have had their propaganda video to carry out further attacks against Americans.
Now he won’t get that chance. And Kerry is probably the one hardest hit.
