President Donald Trump has long called Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran one of the worst in history, and in May, he pulled out of the deal. (RELATED: President Trump Calls the Iran Nuclear Deal an Embarrassment in U.N. Speech).

Given how Iran has respected the deal, it makes no sense for us to be part of it. In October and November 2015, just after the nuclear deal was reached, Iran tested new ballistic missiles capable of carrying multiple warheads, in violation of the deal. And again in March of 2016, Iran performed another such test. In April of this year, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed that Iran has moved their nuclear stockpile to a secret location.

What’s the point in being the only party to a deal that’s upholding their end of the bargain? Obviously, there isn’t one, hence why Trump pulled out of it. Despite all the supposed consequences of the pull out that we were warned about, what possible consequences could there be in terminating a deal that didn’t benefit the United States in any single way? Given that we were paying Iran ransom payments for American hostages around the time of the deal, it goes without saying that we were dealing with some shady characters.

And now, Iran is reopening at least one nuclear facility that was previously dormant for nearly a decade, and threatening the rest of the world if they can’t salvage the nuclear deal Trump already pulled out of.

According to Zero Hedge: “Iran has also opened a uranium feedstock plant in the absence of the nuclear agreement. Tehran prepares to increase uranium enrichment capacity if a nuclear deal with world powers falls apart, reported Reuters. Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei ordered their atomic energy agency (AEOI) to start the necessary preparations to upgrade the country’s enrichment capacity in case the European efforts at a world deal fail. The UF6 factory is part of the Isfahan uranium conversion facility, according to AEOI’s statement on its website. The AEOI said on Wednesday that in response to Khamenei’s order and Trump’s renunciation of the deal, a plant for the production of UF6, the feedstock for centrifuge machines that enrich uranium, had been relaunched and a barrel of yellow cake has been delivered there.”

While most media outlets will inevitably portray Iran’s actions as a consequence of Trump’s policy, what it really is is yet another reminder that they never took the nuclear deal seriously in the first place. They didn’t obey it when it was in effect, and now in an attempt to create a European version of the Iran nuclear deal, Iran is threatening Europe with their nuclear capabilities?

Nations that are looking to reach a deal in good faith tend not to threaten their detractors with nuclear annihilation.

President Trump was 100% correct to pull the United States out of the Iran nuclear deal, despite objections from the left. Iran cannot be trusted, and President Obama was so eager to make a deal that he was willing to sign a bad one.
