Ilhan Omar Shares List of Things She Is, Ted Cruz Points Out It Didn’t Say ‘American’

Rep. Ilhan Omar randomly shared a list of things ‘I am’ this weekend and Senator Ted Cruz was quick to note it didn’t include the word ‘American.’

Omar posted a tweet on Sunday that was designed to draw a reaction by listing a handful of things she thinks conservatives oppose about her. In doing so, the Minnesota Democrat accidentally revealed that she does, in fact, use race and religion as a means to divide and then demonize her critics.

Why Ilhan Omar Thinks She’s Despised By The Right

“I am … Hijabi Muslim Black Foreign born Refugee Somali,” Omar wrote before mocking opponents with the false suggestion that such things are why she is despised by the right.

“Easily triggering conservatives, Right-wing bloggers, anti-Muslim bigots, tinfoil conspiracy theorists, birthers, pay me a [Banknote] to bash Muslims fraudsters, pro-occupation groups and every single xenophobe since 2016,” she wrote.

Her message included a GIF of Omar shouting, “Hello! Hello!”

Ted Cruz Points Out the Obvious

There are a few things to dissect in Omar’s ridiculous tweet. Not the least of which is the fact that “pay me … to bash Muslims” swipe continues her history of making controversial references.

This is, after all, the same woman who tweeted that American support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins.”

The tweet is also a shot at those who have dared mention a reported ongoing investigation into whether or not Omar married her own brother as a means, as the left-leaning Minneapolis Star-Tribune wrote, to “skirt immigration laws.”

Fox News reported last month that the investigation surrounds allegations involving “perjury, immigration fraud, tax fraud, student loan fraud, and possibly bigamy.”

Omar has been denying these allegations of late. But those “tinfoil conspiracy theorists” Omar speaks of – the ones carrying out the investigations – work at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI.

Cruz jumped in and pointed more of the obvious about Omar’s little list.

“More than a little odd that ‘American’ doesn’t make the list,” he noted. “Wonder why?”

Omar Attempts To Explain

“Are you suggesting being an ‘Ameican’ should be on a list of things that are triggering about me?” she asked Cruz. “That says a lot about you than me Senator.”

No, it actually says a lot more about you, Ms. Omar, since it’s the one thing you knew wouldn’t upset conservatives and the one thing you knew you couldn’t claim without drawing laughter.

“She is a sitting member of the US Congress. But, in today’s Leftist world of intersectionality, ‘American’ is deemed embarrassing [and] gauche,” Cruz explained.

He’s not wrong. Omar recently told supporters that her first impression upon coming to America was one of disappointment.

“I remember turning to my father and saying, ‘This doesn’t look like the America you promised,'” the Bernie Sanders supporter relayed.

In addition to that, Omar has suggested Americans are not smart enough to understand what Democrats are trying to do for this country and said living life in America “is an everyday assault.”

Those are the kinds of things that infuriate patriotic Americans, Ms. Omar. Not the things you’re hoping will.
