Ilhan Omar Responds To Being Called ‘Jihad Squad Member’ By Boebert, Calls Republican’s Husband A ‘Pervert’

Ilhan Omar responded to recent attacks from Lauren Boebert by saying the Republican "defecated" Congress and calling her husband a "pervert."

Representative Ilhan Omar responded to recent attacks from Lauren Boebert by saying the Colorado Republican “defecated” Congress and called Boebert’s husband a “pervert.”

The rest of the world must be looking at the current state of affairs in Congress bewildered and amused.

The fiery exchange began following Boebert’s speech on the floor of the House in which she referred to Omar as a “Jihad Squad member,” joked about Omar’s unproven but rumored marriage to her brother, and pointed out her history of corrupt campaign dealings.

“The Jihad Squad member from Minnesota has paid her husband, and not her brother-husband, the other one, over $1 million in campaign funds,” Boebert said. “This member is allowed on the Foreign Affairs Committee while praising terrorists.”

The congresswoman was pointing out the disparity between Republicans such as Paul Gosar (AZ) being held accountable for their antics while Democrats seemingly get to skate worry-free,

Gosar was censured by the House and removed from his committee assignments over a parody cartoon video.

Omar Fires Back

Omar responded to Boebert’s comments in an almost ‘I know you are, but what am I’ fashion.

She shared the video of her colleague’s speech on social media and began her response with, “Luckily my dad raised me right.”

Omar then called Boebert an “insurrectionist who sleeps with a pervert.”

“I am grateful I was raised to be a decent human and not a deprived person who shamefully defecated [and] defiles the House of Representatives,” she added.

Omar’s jab at Boebert’s husband appears to refer to a 2004 arrest for exposing himself to two women at a bowling alley.

Defiling The House

I’m not going to investigate the ‘defecating’ claim, but Omar has most assuredly defiled the House with her history of anti-Semitic, anti-American commentary.

A trio of House Republicans in June introduced a resolution seeking to censure Omar and other members of the ‘Squad’ for comments backing “the actions of a recognized terrorist organization.”

At the time, the Minnesota Democrat had been accused of equating the U.S. and Israel to the Taliban and Hamas terrorist groups, an accusation she denied.

Omar’s censure, unlike Gosar’s, went nowhere, the exact point Boebert was trying to make.

Aside from that incident, the Squad member has a rich history of anti-Semitic comments including:

  • Tweeting “Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel.”
  • Said that Jewish lawmakers “have allegiance to a foreign country” regarding their support for Israel.
  • Tweeting that US support for Israel was “all about the Benjamins” and when she was asked what she meant, she responded “AIPAC!”
  • Shared a cartoon that even her Democrat colleagues called out as “vile” and “anti-Semitic.”
  • She compared Israel to Iran.

Rather than censure her for those actions, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi did nothing.

And ignoring that pattern would later lead to Omar retweeting a video filmed by the International Solidarity Movement, a Palestinian organization that was probed by the FBI for ties to terrorism.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy vowed that if Republicans capture the House in 2022 he would remove Omar from her post on the Foreign Affairs Committee.

“If we are fortunate enough to have the majority, Omar would not be serving on Foreign Affairs, or anybody that has an anti-Semitic, anti-American view,” he said.

Time will tell if that is nothing more than a hollow threat.
