Ilhan Omar Doesn’t Want to Talk About Accusations That She Had An Affair With Political Consultant

Ilhan Omar, in an interview with WCCO, denied she’s separated from her husband and refused to talk about accusations that she had an affair with a married political consultant.

A bombshell report by the New York Post on Tuesday showed a divorce filing by a Washington, DC mother blamed the Minnesota Representative for breaking up her marriage.

In it, the woman, Dr. Beth Jordan Mynett, claimed her husband, Tim Mynett, admitted to carrying out an affair with Omar and made a “declaration of love” for the radical lawmaker.

Not surprisingly, Omar had no interest in discussing the allegations. WCCO asked if she was separated from her husband or if she was dating anyone, to which the Democrat said it was her “personal life.”

“No, I am not,” Omar insisted. “As I said yesterday, I have no interest in allowing the conversation about my personal life to continue and so I have no desire to discuss it.”

Reports surfaced last month indicating Omar had left her husband, Ahmed Hirsi, and moved into a penthouse apartment in a trendy Minneapolis neighborhood.

Shortly thereafter, video emerged of her leaving “a romantic out-of-the-way restaurant” in Playa Del Rey with a mystery man, who, video shows, may very well have been Mynett.

Do actions speak louder than words in this case?

More Trouble

Well, of course, she has no desire to discuss her personal life. The problem she has, however, is that she may be facing some very serious campaign fraud issues because of her actions in her personal life. And those are fair game.

An analysis of Federal Election Commission (FEC) records shows that Omar’s campaign paid over $20,000 in “travel expenses” to the company owned by Mynett, something government ethics watchdog Tom Anderson said is “probably” a violation.

Omar’s no rookie when it comes to campaign finance violations. In June, she was ordered to personally reimburse her campaign for just under $3,500 and pay a $500 civil penalty for using campaign funds to pay for a trip to Florida.

“It’s a brazen act Representative Omar was caught doing before in Minnesota and all of the evidence we’ve seen tells us she’s probably doing it again,” Anderson told the Daily Caller.

Even More Trouble

The legal and ethical issues are starting to pile up for Ms. Omar. In the likely event that someone files a new complaint about her use of campaign funds to facilitate an affair, she will be fighting negative reports on numerous fronts.

Judicial Watch filed a congressional ethics complaint against Omar in July, saying she must be investigated for “perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, and federal student loan fraud.”

She had filed joint tax returns with her husband while still engaged in civil marriage with a man some have asserted is her brother.

The left-leaning Minneapolis Star-Tribune also reported on documents raising questions as to whether Omar married her brother as a means to “skirt immigration laws.”

In her interview with WCCO, Omar refused to discuss those allegations as well. The reporter noted that she seems “unphased and unbowed by negative publicity,” asking her how she does it.

“The people who I love know who I am and what I care about,” Omar responded. “I have three beautiful little children and a family to care for, so for me, my focus is doing the work that I feel I was destined to do.”

Unfortunately for her, that work is being tarnished by tax fraud, campaign finance violations, and multiple marriages and affairs outside her Muslim faith.

She might not be ‘destined’ to do it for much longer if she keeps breaking the law and courting scandal.
