ICE Thwarts Leftist Activists at D.C. Headquarters

For the past couple of months, liberals have been trying to portray members of immigration enforcement as if they’re part of President Donald Trump’s personal Gestapo.

On Wednesday, dozens of the so-called “resistance” gathered outside the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in the nation’s capital to protest immigration policies. The demonstrators had planned to enter the building, and then occupy it, as a form of protest against ICE nationwide.

Protesters chanted “F*** your borders, f*** your walls, we will make your system fall!,” but the border that law enforcement made against ICE’s building proved effective.

According to the Daily Wire: One protester said that that they “were there in part to protest Trump’s zero tolerance policy, despite Trump having issued an executive order to put a stop to most of the family separations and the U.S. District Court judge’s ruling that all children must be reunited with their families within 30 days. The plan to get into the ICE building through an unguarded entrance failed.”

“They were ready for us,” she said.

After moving from the main road to a less trafficked one, the group of activists would not stop blocking the road until they were “forcibly arrested.” Police warned them to stop blocking the road, but a lead activist explicitly said they wouldn’t move unless arrested. Police then proceeded to do exactly what they warned, and arrested the protesters. After a few arrests, other members of the group gave up and disbanded.

A similar recent protest in Portland went awry as well, as DHS police walled off the facility before protesters could occupy it. In total, nine people were arrested at that failed occupation attempt.

President Donald Trump is expected to increase ICE’s budget by nearly $1 billion next year, and in the face of protests like this, that’s more than justified.

For too long, these protesters have gotten a slap on the wrist from law enforcement… or a free pass. How many riots can you think of during the Obama administration in which people “protested” by burning their own cities to the ground? In the case of rioting in Baltimore in 2015, following the death of a man in police custody, the Mayor literally said that she “wanted to give space to those who wished to destroy.”

Meanwhile, the parts of law enforcement that Trump controls will be allowed to protect and serve, as is evidenced from the response to these attempted anti-ICE “occupations.” The biggest anti-ICE protest yet happened yesterday, and was organized by the same people as the Women’s March.

And over 600 were arrested.

Since when have there been mass arrests at a conservative protest?
