The legendary Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino of Pulp Fiction and Once Upon A Time In Hollywood fame showed his support for Israel this week by visiting a military base in Southern Israel to help “boost morale” among troops as they fight back against Hamas.

Tarantino Visits Israeli Military Base

“Breaking: Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino visits an Israeli base in southern Israel to boost IDF [Israel Defense Forces] morale,” Israel War Room wrote on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, alongside a photo of Tarantino with IDF troops, whose faces had been blurred out for their own protection.

Nonprofit antisemitism organization Stand With Us shared a photo from Tarantino’s visit on Instagram.

“A bright moment during a dark time: Legendary filmmaker Quentin Tarantino showed his solidarity with the Israeli people by making a surprise visit to southern Israel, which has been completely devastated by Hamas’ ongoing terror war,” the organization wrote.

“There, he toured military bases and mingled with soldiers and residents, igniting a social media frenzy of selfies and videos. What a beautiful way to show support,” it added.

Tarantino Lives In Israel

Some fans may be surprised to learn that Tarantino, who is originally from Tennessee, now lives in Tel Aviv, Israel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He is married to the Israeli singer Daniella Pick, who he met in 2009 while visiting Israel to promote his hit movie Inglourious Basterds, and they would go on to marry in 2018. They are parents to two children, and they currently call Tel Aviv home.

Tarantino, 60, has gushed about his life in Israel in previous interviews.

“I love the country, and the people are really nice, very nice to me, and they seem excited that I’m here,” he once said, according to The New York Post, adding that Tel Aviv is like a smaller version of Los Angeles, with “magnificent restaurants, cool bars, cool clubs.”

“I wouldn’t make a movie about the political climate [in Israel],” he continued.

Last year, Tarantino received an honorary doctorate from Jerusalem’s prestigious Hebrew University to honor both his career and his new life in Israel.

“Following his marriage to actress and musician Daniella Pick, Tarantino considers the state of Israel his home and publicly supports it worldwide,” the university said in a statement at the time.

Celebrities Sign Open Letter Condemning Hamas

Daily Mail reported that this comes after Hamas launched an attack on Israel that resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 people, and the taking of dozens of hostages. Hollywood stars like Gal Gadot, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jerry Seinfeld, and more have signed an open letter condemning Hamas for the terrorist group’s “evil” actions.

“Hamas murdered and kidnapped innocent men, women, and children,” the letter read. “They kidnapped and murdered infants and the elderly,’ said the open letter released by Creative Community For Peace.”

“This is terrorism. This is evil,” it continued. “There is no justification or rationalization for Hamas’ actions,’ the letter went on. ‘These are barbaric acts of terrorism that must be called out by everyone.”

We applaud Tarantino for doing his part to boost the morale of the Israeli soldiers who are putting their lives on the line to protect their country from this assault. Please join us in saying a prayer for them!
