Election night 2016 will go down as the worst night of Hillary Clinton’s political life. All the pundits and political strategists had predicted a Clinton victory, insisting that Donald J. Trump had no chance of defeating her.
Despite Hillary being the overwhelming favorite, Donald J. Trump scored one of the biggest electoral upsets in modern political history, and the loss hit Hillary pretty hard, according to the new book “Shattered” by reporters Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes.
In the book, the authors describe a gloomy election night, in which Barack Obama had to pressure Hillary Clinton multiple times to concede.
“Mr. President,” Hillary Clinton said softly. “I’m sorry.” When HRC called Obama on election night: https://t.co/DlMFvR6G9K

From The Washington Post:
Shortly after 11:00 p.m., after Wisconsin was called by Fox News, Allen and Parnes report that the campaign fielded a series of calls from the White House pushing Hillary Clinton to concede, even though the margins in many states were extraordinarily close. President Barack Obama thought it was over and did not want a messy recount.
First came a call from White House political director David Simas to Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook. “POTUS doesn’t think it’s wise to drag this out,” Simas said.
But Clinton was dragging it out.
So then she got a call from POTUS. “You need to concede,” urged Obama, who repeated the message in a follow-up call to Clinton’s campaign chairman, John Podesta.
At last, Clinton said, “Give me the phone.” And then the first woman who was going to be president got her opponent on the line and said two words she never expected to say: “Congratulations, Donald.”

It is also being reported that Hillary had to apologize to Obama for losing the election, adding even more humiliation to an already terrible night for the Democrat.
Everyone remembers that on election night, Hillary Clinton refused to come out and concede in front of the cameras, instead sending out campaign chairman John Podesta to inform her fans that the Democrat would not make a statement:
Things appeared to be heading in a bad direction for Crooked Hillary when her campaign cancelled post-election fireworks on Election Day, perhaps realizing that the end was near.
Hillary’s defeat to then-candidate Donald Trump was utterly humiliating, as everyone around her was insisting there was no way she could ever lose the election. One has to wonder if Obama’s insistence that Hillary concede was to spare the Democrat any further embarrassment by demanding a recount, although her allies would still pursue such efforts in the months to come.
Why do you think Obama had to pressure Hillary to concede? Was it to help her save face? Share your thoughts below!

I don’t think Obama ever WANTED Hillary to win, but couldn’t publicly say so. In ’08, he had to make some serious threats against Chelsea, to stop the Clintons from using the ‘birther’ issue against him. (They were the ones that originally started that.) I was totally surprised when he appointed her as Sec of State. I guess he used that old saying, ‘Keep your friends close, & your enemies even closer.’
Hell…the crybaby snowflakes STILL haven’t conceded. They still think they are going to drive Donald Trump from the White House like they did Richard Nixon back in 1974.
One reason we do NOT use the ‘popular vote’ as the end-all in these is to prevent ONE STATE from determining the outcome of an election. How would you like it if CA, NY, IL were the only states required because of their population total. Every body else, go home. Your vote doesn’t count. We have enough people living in these 3 states to overturn the votes of all the other 47 states combined. So… all we have to do is promise lots of free stuff for non-english speakers, free housing, free healthcare, free financial aid, food stamps… courtesy of your friendly local politician… who is a Caring Democrat who won’t throw grandma off a bridge… now… who ya gonna vote for? Woo Hoo… Looky who wins … go figure…
THAT is why we don’t use, need or want a buyable popular vote. the electoral college is an attempt to give Rhode Island as much political Clout as NY or CA.
Surprised by Obama’s insistence. I think he would have been happy by either outcome, frankly. Her loss meant he could move the Clintons and their loyalists out of the Democrat party and replace them with his own. I figure he was eager to move on to Plan B (the Cold Coup scenario) and didn’t want a repeat of 2000 election in his way. Now, Plan B is stuck, due to Obama’s use of our national security and intelligence apparatus for purely partisan political purposes.
Doesn’t matter. The electoral college is the deciding factor. And, whenever a Republican has gotten the popular vote, but the Dimocrat won the electoral college votes, I don’t remember ANY riots, vile mud slinging, fake news, etc being done by the Republicans That shows who are the ADULTS in this country, & who the CHILDREN are. Snowflakes!!
Three million more Americans voted for Clinton than Trump. Republicans cannot stand the truth.
The truth is with all of the illegal votes she never even won the popular voter. Don’t believe the main stream lying media who had their hands in obama’sd pants pockets for 8 years and was playing ball with the mother of all liars.
I knew the race was over when she called off the fireworks early in the evening. People were just trying to draw it out.
“President Barack Obama thought it was over and did not want a messy recount.”
We now know that Jill S called for a recount. We now know that Hillary was the one who lost votes in that recount. So what else made Obama hesitant to call for a recount and why did he think it would be ‘messy’. Theories: 1) the Dems tried to fix the vote with the illegals aliens, 2) the Dems tried to fix the vote via miscounts, a la MI/Detroit? Somebody in the media should interview the Deep Staters in the FEC and in the Obama Admin.
Just go away, Hillary, and take Billary and Chelsery with you!

Is “Election night 2016 the worst night of Hillary Clinton’s political life’? I sure hope not. I’d much prefer that when the Jury returns and Hillary is found guilty of multiple crimes including Treason, Child Sex Trafficking , Pedophilia and Massive Charity Fraud and is sentenced to a very long Prison Sentence, that this will be ‘the worst night of Hillary Clinton’s political life’.
Nice article, Thanks
