Hillary Clinton Reveals She Never Prepared a Concession Speech for Election Night

Remember on Election Night when Hillary Clinton refused to come out to address her supporters? After it became clear she lost to Donald Trump, Hillary dispatched John Podesta, the Clinton campaign chairman, to inform the crowd it was time to give up and go home.

There was a lot of speculation at the time of why Hillary couldn’t be bothered to show her face to her supporters.

Some accounts maintained that Clinton “was crying, inconsolably,” and couldn’t possibly make an appearance. Others said she was drunk and violent, assaulting her husband Bill and other aides.

But now we know the real reason Hillary wouldn’t speak on Election Night. In a new interview with CBS, Clinton revealed that she was so confident she’d win, she didn’t even bother to pen a concession speech.

“I had not drafted a concession speech. I’d been working on a victory speech,” Clinton said in an interview.

She retreated and hoped the nightmare scenario would pass: “I just kind of went in the bedroom, laid down on the bed, just thought, ‘Okay. I just have to wait this out.’ But then, midnight, I decided, ‘well - you know, looks like it’s not going to work.’”

Hilarious. You can listen to the entire interview below:

She already revealed in the interview that ahead of the election, she purchased a second home in Chappaqua, New York, to accommodate future White House staff.

Oops! Talk about a big mistake.

Looks like Clinton’s overconfidence was her undoing. And, frankly, I couldn’t be happier about that.

That’s why I was even more thrilled to hear Clinton announced in the interview that she’s “done with being a candidate.”

Thank God.
