Fox News Host Bret Baier Gets Some Good News As His Multi-Year Deal With Network Is Extended

Fox News host Bret Baier got some good news on Friday when the network extended his multi-year contract as anchor and executive editor of “Special Report.”

“I am thrilled to continue working with FOX News Channel for the next five years,” Baier said afterwards, according to The Daily Caller. “It has been my home away from home for almost a quarter century. [Fox News Media CEO) Suzanne Scott, [Fox News president] Jay Wallace, and the Murdoch’s have been terrific leaders and bosses. I look forward to working closely with my incredibly talented team to cover the Important stories of our time in the fair and honest way our viewers expect.”

Baier has been hosting “Special Report” ever since January of 2009, and he had signed a multi-year deal in 2019. Since taking over “Special Report,” he’s increased the ratings by double-digits, with the show being consistently ranked in the top ten of cable news shows for the past decade. Fox said in a press release that “Special Report” is up 53% overall in the ratings for total viewers and 21% for the key 25-54 age demographic.

Baier’s Career History

On top of all that, Baier also serves at the network’s chief political anchor and has a show on Fox News Audio. He first joined Fox back in 1998, and he was the network’s first reporter in its Atlanta bureau. Throughout his time at Fox, Baier has covered presidential debates, co-moderated presidential election town halls, served at Fox’s White House correspondent and as its military and national security affairs reporter.

“Bret has masterfully covered some of the most consequential news stories of our time and we’re thrilled to have him continue his extraordinary journalism career at FOX News for many years to come,” Scott said in a statement.

Baier has additionally won various journalism awards, and aside from working at Fox, he’s written multiple New York Times best-selling books. Fans of his work will undoubtedly be very happy to know that it seems that he will continue to appear on Fox for many years to come.
