Fiorina: “Vital” That Trump is Impeached

In an interview with CNN’s Poppy Harlow, Carly Fiorina said it was “vital” that President Trump was impeached, but refused to rule out voting for him again.

“Vital” Trump is Impeached

Fiorina told Harlow that she thought President Trump was going to be impeached, and that it was “vital” that he was.

“I think the conduct is impeachable and what I regret is that the principles that are being debated in this impeachment trial – separation of powers, abuse of power, obstruction of Congress – those principles are not as immediate or intense as partisanship or people’s belief that the policies that I care about impact me personally,” she said.

Fiorina went after Republicans for not “breaking rank” and endorsing President Trump’s impeachment.

“In this country, we don’t pledge allegiance to a party or to a president. In this country, principles matter – and in particular, the principle that we have co-equal branches of government and that no one is above the law and that it is Congress’s duty to oversee and to investigate the executive branch is a vital principle,” she argued. “Our Constitution was based on a fundamental belief that power concentrated is power abused. And we have to stand up for that principle. In the near term, it may cost. But in the long term, those principles are everything.”

Fiorina is a Failed Politician

Fiorina was the only woman to run for the Republican nomination for the 2016 Presidential election, using her time as CEO of Hewlett-Packard to push an image of being a sensible businesswoman, who could go up against the inevitable Clinton nomination. Her poll numbers peaked at 15% after the September 2015 Republican debate, but quickly dropped down to below 4% the next month.

Fiorina dropped out in February after dismal performances in the first primaries in Iowa and New Hampshire. She endorsed Ted Cruz for President, saying that he was the only one who could stop Trump, who was “horrible.” She was Cruz’s pick for Vice-President in April, but that only lasted 6 days before he dropped out of the race, making it the shortest Vice-Presidential campaign in US history.

Fiorina’s animosity for President Trump most likely arose when he mocked her looks in 2015.

“Look at that face!” he said, “Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?!”

I don’t doubt she’s held a grudge for that, and for absolutely annihilating her in the campaign. She’s simply a sore loser, who’s upset her time in the sun never arrived.

What is most funny, however, is that she didn’t rule out voting for President Trump again in 2020, saying that “it depends who the Democrats put up.” This is emblematic of President Trump’s control of the conservative movement – even people who hate him can only whine and moan about him in the media, but they’ll still put a check in the box next to his name when it comes down to it. It’s absolutely pathetic, and I, for one, find it hilarious.
