Far-Left Rep. Cori Bush Argues Killer Cops Are Rampant, Accuses Democrats Of ‘Spewing Lies’ About Her ‘Defund Police’ Position

Rep. Cori Bush Says Killer Cops Are Rampant And Colleagues 'Spew Lies' About Her 'Defund The Police' Position

For far-left freshman Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO), being a Member of Congress must be nothing like she thought, what with putting up with people who have different opinions about her positions on issues, specifically defunding the police.

Then there is the sudden defense of law enforcement by her fellow Democrats in an election year. It can be very frustrating!

But on Tuesday during a congressional hearing, Bush was able to get it all on the table. She claimed that her congressional colleagues were “spewing lies” about her position on defunding the police, and painted police officers as ruthless killers.

Lies And Killer Cops

But if nothing else, Bush is a fast learner. She managed to subtly insult her fellow lawmakers and accuse law enforcement officers of prowling America’s streets looking for innocent victims to kill.

“What too many of my colleagues do not want us to talk about what, what they don’t want us talking about, is that as they trip over each other, rushing to spew lies and right-wing talking points about police funding, they are saying nothing about the rise of violence by the police. Even after millions of people marched in our streets demanding an end to police brutality, there were only fifteen, one-five, fifteen days in 2021 in which police officers didn’t kill someone.”

Democrats, well-known for spewing “right wing” talking points!

Strong words, but nothing out of the ordinary for Bush.

Not Backing Down

As the November midterm election gets closer, Democrats get more nervous. Recently they have collectively tried to distance themselves from the “defund the police” narrative, finding out that it is not popular.

But Bush insists she is not backing down from her defund the police position. She says several Democrats have asked her to stop advocating for defunding the police but she refuses.

Perhaps Bush has not looked at murder statistics for St. Louis, which sits in the heart of her district.

In 2021, the Gateway City saw 196 murders. That was down from a high in 2020 of 263 murders.

CBS reports that St. Louis’ 64+ murders per 100,000 residents gave it the highest murder rate in the entire country in 2019.

Cori Bush became a Black Lives Matter activist in the wake of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. After the death of George Floyd in 2020, as protests broke out in almost every major American city, including St. Louis, Bush was on the front lines of the protests.

As angry crowds gathered in front of Mark and Patricia McCloskey’s home, Bush was with them, in the middle of a four-lane artery through the city with a bullhorn egging them on.

In November of 2021 during the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, Bush claimed that white supremacist “snipers” shot at protesters in Ferguson during the unrest there. There is no record of any such incident.

Bush has also joined her fellow “Squad” members in Congress in spending tens of thousands of dollars on private security, all while demanding defunded police for everyone else.

If House Democrats are anxious and sweaty about November, Cori Bush could be one of the reasons why.
