Cue the left-wing meltdown.
Newly minted owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, has called for a red wave on Election Day, urging Independent voters to usher in a Republican Congress as a means to balance power in Washington.
The premise behind Musk’s argument is that a GOP Congress would keep the balance of power in check with a Democrat President currently sitting in the Oval Office.
“To independent-minded voters,” he tweeted. “Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.”
He posted a follow-up message suggesting hardcore partisans are set in their ways, but Independents “are the ones who actually decide who’s in charge.”

Elon Musk: Vote Republican
Elon Musk’s urging of Independent voters to swing to the side of Republicans for this election surely will rile up leftists who are already distraught that free speech is being brought back to Twitter.
More importantly, the Tesla CEO may be on to something.
A recent Quinnipiac poll shows 49% of registered voters who identify as Independent want to see Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in the midterms. Just 34% want to see Democrats remain in power.
Over in the Senate, the numbers are similar – 49% of registered Independents want the GOP to win, just 36% for the Democrats.
Excited to see all the left-leaning celebrities claim they’re leaving Twitter after this balanced tweet.

In that same poll, a staggering 84% of registered Independent voters consider themselves either somewhat or very dissatisfied with the way things are going in the nation today.
The poll was released just last week.

Musk Voted For His First R in June
I’m quite certain liberals will respond to Musk’s tweet calling for Republican control of Congress with level-headed arguments to the contrary.
Just kidding.
This past Spring, Musk announced that he voted for Mayra Flores, a Mexican-born Republican congresswoman in Texas.
“I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican,” he proudly declared before predicting: “Massive red wave in 2022.”

Massive red wave in 2022.

Democrat Representative Jamaal Bowman (NY) at the time said Musk’s support for a Hispanic Republican woman is evidence of how he “supports white supremacy.”
Elon Musk is not a leader. He’s just another Republican billionaire who supports white supremacy and authoritarianism because he doesn’t want his workers to unionize or to pay his fair share in taxes.
The GOP just tried to end democracy and now he’s supporting them. https://t.co/WArBQQsHK5

When asked who he’s leaning toward in the 2024 presidential election, Musk replied: “DeSantis.”
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis replied by insisting he’s focused on the gubernatorial contest in 2022 but joked he “always appreciates the support from African Americans!” (Musk was born in South Africa.)

Musk’s latest call to vote Republican is already sending liberals into a tailspin.
Daily Beast columnist Wajahat Ali whined, “So Twitter, like Fox, is now right-wing media.”
Former Finance Chair of Draft Biden Jon Cooper added Musk’s endorsement of the GOP is “especially dangerous considering the existential threat MAGA Republicans pose to our democracy.”
Neither comment has an ounce of truth to it.
Musk on Sunday said it is his mission to make Twitter “the most accurate source of information about the world.”
If that is the case, people like Ali and Cooper are going to have to find a new social media platform.
Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
