Eric Swalwell continued his foray into replacing former Rep. Adam Kinzinger as the biggest drama queen in Congress Wednesday when he essentially accused Kevin McCarthy of trying to have him killed by kicking him off the House Intelligence Committee.

Swalwell (D-CA), who typically portrays himself as a tough guy or even a superhero like the Avengers, chose a different path during his latest press conference – whiny victim.

The Democrat lawmaker accused McCarthy of exacting “political vengeance” toward him, Adam Schiff, and Ilhan Omar, by having them removed from their committee assignments. Further, Swalwell claims that he’s inundated with death threats, which is being done on purpose or directed by Speaker McCarthy.

“Even though we have said publicly, ‘These smears are bringing death threats against us,’ he continues to do it, which makes us believe that there’s an intent behind it,” claimed Swalwell.

Swalwell Accuses McCarthy of Intentionally Trying to Get Him Killed

The “smears” Swalwell is referencing are the facts behind McCarthy’s decision to pull Schiff and Swalwell from the Intel committee.

Swalwell had a well-documented relationship with a Chinese spy. The spy managed to get an intern placed in Swalwell’s Washington office. Some have speculated that the relationship was sexual, something the congressman has not specifically denied.

Schiff, meanwhile, is a notorious leaker who has repeatedly claimed to the media to have insider knowledge on matters involving Russia collusion, but has never produced it.

He used and abused his position as one of authority to promote false accusations against former President Donald Trump.

“Swalwell can’t get a security clearance in the private sector. I’m not going to give him a government security clearance,” McCarthy explained as he was preparing to reject the Democrat committee assignments. “Schiff has lied to the American public.”

Swalwell is the New AOC

Several observers and pundits couldn’t help but mock Swalwell for his accusations against McCarthy.

National Review contributor Pradheep Shanker responded, “Swalwell is not the victim here.”

In his mind, however, he most definitely is the victim. Doesn’t that count?

Political commentator John Hawkins pointed out that “everyone famous, including politicians, gets death threats.”

He added, “If they don’t like it, they can quit, and then their replacements will get the death threats while they fade into anonymity.”

“The hypocrisy here is so astonishing that it functions as yet another argument in McCarthy’s favor,” wrote Washington Examiner executive editor Seth Mandel.

You would think if he’s so concerned about death threats, Swalwell would shrink away into obscurity now that he has more time on his hands.

Speaking of which, rather than take that path, Swalwell instead issued a threat of his own against McCarthy.

“We will not be quiet. We’re not going away,” said Swalwell. “I think he’ll regret giving all three of us more time on our hands.”

Eric Swalwell is simply becoming the latest lawmaker trying to out-AOC, AOC. His incessant whining about death threats – something every public figure receives on a nearly daily basis (Not that that’s a good thing, but simply is)- is truly something to behold.

Actually, it might even make AOC – who once accused Ted Cruz of nearly having her ‘murdered’ and admits she’s in therapy over the Capitol riot – blush with embarrassment.

Swalwell has been publicly playing audio clips of alleged ‘death threats’ on his voicemail which he claims are a result of McCarthy telling the truth about his Chinese spy relationship.

First off, if that is a legitimate voicemail, why not turn it over to the FBI instead of posting it on Twitter?

Second, nowhere in that call is it mentioned that Swalwell is a national security risk for having slept with a Chinese spy. So which part of this was “inspired” by McCarthy?

Prior to getting kicked off the Intel Committee, Swalwell leveled similar reckless accusations against McCarthy.

“It inspires these death threats. People parrot what Kevin McCarthy is saying when they call and make the threats,” Swalwell claimed.

“Recently, someone said that they were going to rape and kill my children, and they were using the language that Kevin McCarthy was using,” he added.

All Rep. Swalwell is saying is that now he knows how Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh feels, thanks to rhetoric like his own.
