Dixie Chicks Singer Mocks Trump as ‘Elderly and Mentally Ill’

Dixie Chicks frontwoman Natalie Maines mocked President Trump by posting an image of him fumbling a group handshake, then facetiously said it’s not appropriate to badmouth him.

In doing so, she called Trump “mentally ill and elderly,” a comment clearly meant to be an insult.

The image depicts the President struggling to understand what is known as a “traditional” Asean handshake, one performed during a summit in the Philippines. It involves crossing one’s arms to shake the leader next to them with the opposite hand.

Taking a moment to grasp an awkward method to shake hands is something liberals love to use in an effort to demonstrate Trump’s alleged lack of intellect.

Maines, a couple of months slow on the draw, posted the picture taken back in November and added commentary dripping with sarcasm.

“Listen, I think it’s unbelievable how people are badmouthing the President!” she wrote. “It’s unacceptable! This is our President!”

Lest there was any doubt she was being a smarta**, Maines added “How dare you make fun of the mentally ill and elderly?”

Her words indicate that one of the biggest ‘Wide Open Spaces’ rests squarely between her ears.

Maines appears to be a little bitter due to her and the Dixie Chicks careers coming to a screeching halt after she ‘badmouthed’ former President George W. Bush in 2003.

As the U.S. invasion of Iraq was set to begin, Maines introduced a song at a concert in London saying “Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”

“The backlash over that comment ultimately ended their career as superstars,” writes Gayle Thompson at The Boot.

Maines is keeping up her little anti-Republican feud, now trying to start fights with Trump in a desperate plea for attention.

In June of 2016, the group performed a single titled ‘Earl Must Die,’ a song about a woman who kills her abusive husband, complete with a giant poster of Trump sporting a mustache and horns as their backdrop.

In April, Maines tweeted that she ‘hates’ the President because he brings out the worst in her.

There’s only one person in this equation who is mentally ill, Ms. Maines. Maybe it’s time ‘to make nice’ with the President. Who knows – maybe he can help revive that singing career you once had.
