Far-left Democrat Representative Mondaire Jones, in a speech on the House floor, labeled senators who voted against changing filibuster rules to push through voting reform legislation, including Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin, as “white nationalists.”
A bipartisan group of senators on Wednesday voted against changing rules for what Jones describes as the “Jim Crow filibuster,” a term meant to perk up ignorant progressives who have no idea what it means.
“As you just heard, we are living through the worst assault on the right to vote since Jim Crow,” Jones (D-NY) declared. “And yesterday, on the Senate floor, white nationalists used the Jim Crow filibuster to block voting rights legislation.”
Sinema (D-AZ) and Manchin (WV) joined 50 Republican senators in opposition to nuking the filibuster to ram through voting reform legislation that would expand mail-in voting, grant federal control of elections, and require less restrictive voter ID laws.

Mondaire Jones Says Sinema, Manchin Are White Nationalists
It’s nearly impossible to overstate the level of ignorance involved in Mondaire Jones referring to Sinema, Manchin, or even his Republican colleagues as “white nationalists.”
For instance, Jones’ Democrat colleagues just used the “Jim Crow filibuster” just last week to block Senator Ted Cruz from slapping sanctions on businesses tied to Nord Stream 2, a pipeline that will carry gas from Russia to Germany.
Just two years ago when Donald Trump was President, Democrats had used the legislative filibuster a record 327 times.
Oh, those crazy white nationalists!
Democrats continue to call the filibuster the “Jim Crow filibuster” even though just ***last week***, Senate Democrats — at the behest of the Biden WH — used the Jim Crow filibuster to prevent enactment of Ted Cruz’s sanctions bill which had 55 votes.https://t.co/T3r8RRbO4f https://t.co/J7tGs9aEsh

Jones though, insists the bipartisan effort to retain the filibuster is akin to people who support slavery.
“We, the People, didn’t give up when, after we finally ended the scourge of slavery in this nation, white nationalists fought back, violently unraveling Reconstruction, throwing duly elected black people out of office, and barring black voters from the voting booth for generations,” he continued in his House floor rant.
This Is What Happens When You Have No Argument
And why wouldn’t Mondaire Jones use such inflammatory rhetoric, calling Republicans and his own colleagues like Sinema and Manchin alike, white nationalists?
It’s a tried and true formula for the Democrat Party – If you don’t have a coherent and legitimate argument, simply cast your opponents as racist.

Jones is simply following the example of the face of the current party – President Joe Biden – who suggested anyone opposed to the voter reform legislation was comparable to segregationists or even Confederates.
“Do you want to be on the side of Dr. King or George Wallace? Do you want to be the side of John Lewis or Bull Connor? Do you want to be the side of Abraham Lincoln or Jefferson Davis?” Biden asked.

Aside from Jones’ rhetoric being fully ignorant in nature, it also reveals the hypocrisy of the Democrat Party.
Sinema and Manchin you see, are ‘white nationalists’ for opposing changes to the filibuster rule. Biden, however, is a hero despite having – fairly recently – declared that ending the filibuster would be a “very dangerous thing to do.”
For her part, Sinema has argued that Democrats used the filibuster quite recently to make changes to a police reform bill, something that sounds very much unlike the actions of a white nationalist.
“Those filibusters were mounted not as attempts to block progress, but to force continued negotiations toward better solutions,” she argued.
A fellow Democrat Representative from New York, Jamaal Bowman, called Sinema a “traitor” to “our democracy.”
Hero: a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities.
Traitor: a person who betrays a friend, country, principle, etc.
John Lewis is a hero, you are a traitor to his legacy, your constituents and our democracy. https://t.co/bS8PW6QwcB
