Marianne Williamson, a self-help author who is running a second time for the Democrat nomination in 2024, has been accused by past campaign staff of engaging in “abusive” treatment.
Williamson has made a career out of love and forgiveness sermons and even cited “dignity, decency, intelligence and love” as a means to catapult her candidacy in a recent interview.
As Politico reports, those attributes were sorely lacking during her 2020 presidential bid. The outlet interviewed a dozen campaign workers who described her as “a boss who can be verbally and emotionally abusive.”
“Those interviewed say the best-selling author and spiritual adviser subjected her employees to unpredictable, explosive episodes of anger,” they write.
One former staffer accused Williamson of “uncontrollable rage” while all 12 said they had witnessed her “scream at people until they started to cry.”
Multiple interviewees said Williamson would throw phones at staffers.
Wow. A dozen people who worked for Marianne Williamson’s campaign describe her behavior as “abusive” to the point of being “traumatic”:
“It would be foaming, spitting, uncontrollable rage. It was traumatic. And the experience, in the end, was terrifying.”https://t.co/R0XvLxLjHE

Marianne Williamson Needs to Self-Help Herself
The report indicating Marianne Williamson is abusive is quite a shocker since she doesn’t at all seem to be bats*** crazy from outward appearances.
Well, you know, except for that whole forcing a white audience to engage in a “prayer of apology” to black attendees over slavery.
No, that wasn’t super creepy or anything.
The Houston Chronicle in 2020 reported that Williamson had been in town for her “Love America Tour” years prior when she asked black members in attendance to stand.
White audience members were encouraged to take the hand of those standing and begin, “I apologize…” before she listed a litany of reasons why white people are awful.

Not a ‘Wacky New-Age Nutcase’
It’d be interesting to know how many of the 12 former campaign staffers who had phones thrown at them or who were subjected to Marianne Williamson’s “explosive episodes of anger” were black.
Politico would certainly have identified those details had the candidate in question been a Republican. Of that, there is no doubt.
And if none of them were black, then that would be equally as racist because it would indicate Williamson does not hire a diverse staff.
Williamson pushed back on the report, suggesting the Politico story amounts to little more than “dirty tricks.”

Williamson hinted that the accusations of abuse are coming from President Biden’s camp.
“This is what they do. These are the hits that they make. Hit pieces come. Mockery from the press secretary to the president comes …” she said.
“These are the dirty tricks that mean you’re rattling someone. Somebody’s not happy that you’re there” the Democrat candidate added.
“Somebody feels threatened by the conversation that you’re bringing up.”

Williamson insisted during her previous presidential campaign that she is not a crazy train.
“People are so invested in creating this false narrative about me as the ‘crystal lady,’ ‘wacky new-age nutcase,’” she argued “If you really think about it, I must be doing something right that they’re so scared.”
They weren’t scared in 2020. They’re not scared in 2024. Because she does seem to be a little wacky.
