Rep. Introduces Bill to Defund Cities That Let Illegals Vote

defund cities that let illegals vote

How common is it for illegal aliens to vote in elections?

Given the fact that they’re illegal, gathering statistics on the extent of the problem is anything but straightforward. It’s common to see some conservatives try to gauge the problem by looking at counties/cities where there are more registered voters than voting-age citizens – but in many cases, that’s simply because people died and haven’t been removed from the voting rolls. On the other hand, it often is the identities of the deceased that illegals use to vote.

So, what say the studies?

A nationwide poll after the election by James Agresti who runs the fact-checking website “Just Facts” concluded that between 800,000-2.2 million illegals could’ve been registered to vote in the 2016 election. (RELATED: More Than Two Million Illegal Aliens Could Have Voted in 2016). That would be astounding, and it’s not even the most liberal estimate of how widespread voter fraud is. (RELATED: As Many as 5.7 Million Illegal Votes Cast in 2008 Election).

While we don’t know the true scope of the problem, there is one thing we know for sure, that we should be enacting policies to combat the problem, do not encourage it. Liberal jurisdictions are doing just the opposite, knowing very well that illegals will vote for their candidates if given the chance. California passed a law in January that will register everyone with a driver’s license to vote (which took effect on April) – and illegals are allowed to hold driver’s licenses in California. That must’ve not gone far enough, because just last week San Francisco began issuing voter registration documents to illegal immigrants. I suppose they had to make sure the illegals without driver’s licenses get a chance to vote too.

In response, Representative Jeff Duncan is looking to up the pressure on those areas with the “Eliminating Foreign Intervention in Elections Act.”

According to Conservative Review, “The Act would seek to cut down foreign influence in U.S. elections in two ways: It would empower the Census Bureau to collect and publish information on which state and local governments have non-citizen voting policies, and then strip funds away from those jurisdictions.”

“None of the funds made available in any Act may be used to make payments to any unit of local government that permits individuals who are not citizens of the United States to vote in elections for State or local office,” reads section 2 of the two-page bill.

I can only imagine that Duncan is trolling his liberals peers over the faux-Russia investigation by including “Foreign Intervention” in the name of his bill. Liberals seem to be under the impression that a group of Russians with Twitter and Facebook accounts were able to sway the 2016 election, yet don’t think that an estimated 15 million illegal immigrants, many of which have the ability to vote, could do the same. (And ironically, it’s people least likely to get their news online who voted for Trump, so internet fake news did not get him elected).

Now on that note, whatever happened to defunding sanctuary cities altogether? That’s another $27 billion in federal money we could be saving, and it seems to be something that the administration has forgotten about.

You can do a lot with $27 billion – like build a big beautiful border wall.
