DC Mayor Bowser Prepares National Guard To Police Trump Supporters ‘Seeking Confrontation’ At Upcoming Rally

On Monday, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that she was readying about 100 D.C. National Guard troops to police the thousands of Trump supporters expected to gather in the nation’s capitol in coming days.

During a press conference, Bowser that the troops will not be armed – but would assist DC police in arresting anyone open carrying firearms.

Mayor Bowser Wants To Police ‘Demonstrators Who Come To Our City Seeking Confrontation’

“We will not allow people to incite violence, intimidate residents or cause destruction in our city,” Bowser said.

The mayor also mentioned she might issue a curfew for Tuesday and Wednesday.

Bowser tweeted on Sunday, “I am asking Washingtonians and those who live in the region to stay out of the downtown area on Tuesday and Wednesday and not to engage with demonstrators who come to our city seeking confrontation, and we will do what we must to ensure all who attend remain peaceful.”

President Donald Trump has asked his supporters to gather in DC before of the Congressional certification of the 2020 election results.

“I will be there. Historic day!” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

How many Trump supporters might show up in Washington, DC on Tuesday and Wednesday is anyone’s guess, but the Democratic mayor calling out the National Guard is not surprising.

After far-left activists vandalized the streets of DC and other cities across the country in 2020, Democrats did not seem as concerned with that vandalism and mayhem as they are when groups of Americans who support this president decide to gather.

Expected to speak at the Trump event Wednesday are Donald Trump, Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, Amy Kremer, Rudy Giuliani, Katrina Pierson, Boris Ephsteyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, Diamond and Silk, Georgia State Rep. Vernon Jones, Roger Stone, Benny Johnson, Scott Presler, Bernie Kerik, and Ali Alexander.

The event begins at 9:00 AM and President Trump is expected to speak at 11:00 AM.
