David Hogg Cashes In On Manufactured Celebrity With Book Deal

David Hogg has jumped at every manufactured chance to promote his ill-informed thoughts on gun control, and now he and his sister, Lauren, have inked a book deal with Random House with a planned release date of June 5.

According to a statement from David, the book is called “#NeverAgain,” and will tell “the story of the foundation of this movement for those we lost.” Hopefully, the Hoggs have a ghostwriter, because that sentence is hardly intelligible.

Lauren also tweeted out a grammatically incorrect statement about the book.

Notably, Penguin Random House’s website describes the book as a “manifesto”:

This book is a manifesto for the movement begun [February 14, 2018], one that has already changed America–with voices of a new generation that are speaking truth to power, and are determined to succeed where their elders have failed. With moral force and clarity, a new generation has made it clear that problems previously deemed unsolvable due to powerful lobbies and political cowardice will be theirs to solve. Born just after Columbine and raised amid seemingly endless war and routine active shooter drills, this generation now says, Enough. This book is their statement of purpose, and the story of their lives. It is the essential guide to the #NeverAgain movement.

There’s no question that this book will be chock full of ill-informed diatribes against gun ownership. Hell, the title itself is ill-informed. Have David, Lauren, and the publishers at Random House really forgotten the origin of the phrase “Never Again”?

Disturbingly, this isn’t even the first time the Hogg siblings have been on the wrong side of the Holocaust. Last month, they faced criticism for wearing Nazi-esque armbands to promote their gun control movement.

Share this if you’re disgusted by David and Lauren Hogg’s book!
