Cuomo Looking At Ways To ‘Stop’ Trump From Distributing Coronavirus Vaccine, ‘Bad News’ If the President Does It

Andrew Cuomo Coronavirus Vaccine Pfizer Trump

New York governor Andrew Cuomo says he is looking into ways to “fix” or “stop” the Trump administration from implementing a vaccine distribution plan.

Cuomo made the extraordinarily tone-deaf comments during an interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The comments come on the heels of drugmaker Pfizer announcing Monday that their COVID-19 vaccine is proving to be over 90% effective.

The New York Times reports, “Pfizer plans to ask the Food and Drug Administration for emergency authorization of the two-dose vaccine later this month, after it has collected the recommended two months of safety data.”

They estimate there will be enough doses to immunize 15 to 20 million people.

Cuomo responded by stating the vaccine itself is good news, but having the Trump administration distribute it would be “bad news.”

And he’s looking into ways to prevent it from happening.

Cuomo’s Irresponsible Response

Cuomo’s response to the vaccine news is one of the more vile comments I’ve heard come out of any politician’s mouth in some time.

“Well, it’s good news, bad news, George,” Cuomo remarked. “The good news is the Pfizer tests look good and we’ll have a vaccine shortly.”

“The bad news is it’s about two months before Joe Biden takes over, and that means this administration is going to be implementing a vaccine plan.”

New York’s Democrat governor wasn’t simply content with spreading the kind of “anti-vaxxer” rhetoric the left loves to decry.

He actually admitted he’s discussing a plan to stop vaccine distribution until a Biden administration can take over.

“You have two months, and we can’t let this vaccination plan go forward the way the Trump administration is designing it because Biden can’t undo it two months later, we’ll be in the midst of it,” Cuomo fretted.

“I’ve been talking to governors across the nation about that; how can we shape the Trump administration vaccine plan to fix it, or stop it before it does damage.”

Critics Shred Andrew Cuomo For Saying He’ll Block Vaccine Distribution

Critics seized on Cuomo’s incredibly ill-advised comments.

“This is one of the most irresponsible statements anyone could make,” said Fox News contributor Ari Fleischer.

“Everyone should hope for a vaccine as fast as possible and work together to distribute it as fast as possible.”

“There is nothing Andrew Cuomo will not sanctimoniously politicize,” he added.

Former governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, slammed Cuomo’s comments as “recklessly irresponsible.”

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, no fan of President Trump’s, hammered Cuomo for “shamelessly politicizing” the vaccine, calling it “dangerous and stupid.”

“It is beyond disgusting that Governor Cuomo would use a glimmer of hope for another worn-out ‘Trump is bad’ talking point,” he said.

Cuomo’s COVID Record

Cuomo has been embroiled in a coronavirus scandal which many believe cost thousands of senior citizens their lives at the hands of the pandemic.

The Democrat governor issued an executive order in March that critics say forced nursing homes to take on patients that had tested positive for coronavirus.

The order prohibited facilities from requiring incoming patients “to be tested for COVID-19 prior to admission or readmission.”

“Twenty percent of our lost loved ones are from nursing homes,” said Fox News meteorologist Janice Dean at a recent rally in Brooklyn.

Dean’s husband lost both of his parents to COVID-19, with nursing homes playing a part. She has held Cuomo responsible.

“It’s because Governor Cuomo, and several other Governors, by the way, in different states, forced COVID-recovering patients into nursing homes.”

New York has had more deaths from coronavirus than any other state in the country.

Now Cuomo is willing to once again sacrifice the lives of New Yorker – this time for political reasons.

What a despicable, loathsome human being.
