College Students Review Trump State of the Union That Hasn’t Yet Occurred

Campus Reform is back with another episode of Lie-Witness News, in which they get opinions from liberals on completely fictitious events.

In the most recent report, reporter Cabot Philips visits New York University (NYU) to get their opinion on President Donald Trump’s first State of the Union (SOTU) address. For anyone worried they missed it – the SOTU isn’t until tomorrow night.

Despite the speech having yet to occur, the reactions to it ranged from those finding it “offensive” to downright “ridiculous.” Ridiculous indeed.

One student commented that it was “quite racist at the very least, if not up there with the most racist.”

At one point, Philips tells the NYU students that Trump told Democrats that the wall would be ten feet taller because they didn’t stand up to give him applause. An absolutely crazy claim that students identified as “absolutely crazy,” but because they actually thought it occurred.

NYU has a reputation as a bastion of liberalism (what university doesn’t?), but you’d think liberal bias would only apply to a speech they bothered to watch.

Watch for yourself below…

So many questions come to mind from videos like this. For instance, do these kids think they’ve watched something they believe to have been a SOTU address? Are they just embarrassed to not have watched it, so they’re pretending to have watched it and have an opinion on it?

Regardless of the reason, it’s a sad reminder of how tribal politics has become in America. Think about it: If this is how liberals react to a speech that Trump never gave, and one which an interviewer gave limited details about, how will they manage not to twist what the guy actually says?

These students may fancy themselves as highly intelligent, but they’re dense as all can be.
