A new poll released by CNN signals widespread discontent amongst Democrats with their leader as 75% of the party’s voters want to see someone other than President Joe Biden as their nominee in 2024.
That marks a 24-point increase from a similar poll conducted in February.
A deep dive into the numbers shows that of those who’d like to see Biden replaced, 24% don’t think the President can win in 2024 and 32% don’t want him to win.
CNN reports that their latest data “shows a sharp downturn in enthusiasm for a 2024 reelection bid by the President.”
And he’s lost the kids as well, with Democrat voters under 45 supporting a Biden campaign in 2024 at a mere 18%. Without youthful enthusiasm at the polls, the President doesn’t stand a chance.
The outlet also notes that a majority of Republicans do not want Donald Trump to be their party’s nominee in 2024 either, though at a much lower number with 55% indicating they’d like to see somebody else.
New CNN Poll: 75% of registered Democrats don’t want Biden to run again.
And he’s lost his base across the board.

Democrat Voters Don’t Want Biden
Disapproval amongst Democrat voters for a Biden reelection in 2024 is part of a trend.
A New York Times/Siena College poll from earlier this month shows “64 percent of Democratic voters” would like to see somebody other than Biden represent his party in 2024.
That survey indicated concerns over Biden’s age and his poor job performance were the top reasons.
Biden at 33 percent approval in a new New York Times poll. Nearly two-thirds of Democratic voters want a Plan B in 2024. It’s impossible to see how the president reverses this slide if he isn’t willing to fire anyone in his inner circle (See: Klain, Ron). https://t.co/ZeNnCNtLrQ

The President snapped at a reporter two weeks ago for asking about Democrats who don’t want him to run in 2024, as he insisted the lack of support wasn’t accurate.
“They want me to run,” Biden claimed. “Read the poll. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me.”
What it actually showed was that a similar percentage would galvanize around Biden only if he were the nominee and specifically in a race against Trump. That support is more a product of hatred for the former President than anything else.

Democrats Considering a Challenge
This latest poll differs in that Democrat voters are expressing the fact that they don’t actually want President Biden to win a second term.
It is an extraordinary indictment of the current face of the party to be so despised within your party that 75% don’t want you to run and 32% of that group don’t want you to win.

The Political Insider reported last week that Biden’s atrocious approval ratings and polls showing Democrat voters are looking for an alternative are starting to pique interest in a challenge for the 2024 nomination.
New York Times columnist Bret Stephens called Biden a “failing President” and pressured him to announce that he would not run in 2024.
“The central fact about the democratic world today is that it is leaderless.”https://t.co/irb5cahkYZ

“Talented leaders turn proverbial lemons into lemonade. Biden seems to be mastering the trick of turning lemonade into lemons,” Stephens quipped.
“The best thing Biden could do for the country is announce he won’t run for re-election — now, not after the midterms,” he added. “Let his party sort out its own future.”
