Ford’s ‘Beach Friends’ Claim Is Curious to Say the Least

This morning’s testimony by Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford has been a train wreck of lies and contradictions, the latest involving who she told about the alleged abuse and when.

Prosecutor Rachel Mitchell questioned Ford about whether or not she went to any members of Congress with her story prior to July.

“No,” she responded.

Mitchell followed up by asking what motivated her to contact the Washington Post on July 6th, to which she replied that she was “panicking” and her beach friends urged her to call newspapers or her congresswoman.

There’s one major flaw in that argument – The Post itself reported that Ford had relayed those terrible memories “only in therapy and with her husband.”

The Mercury News reported that Ford did speak with two friends after having written Senator Dianne Feinstein.

“I’ve been trying to forget this all my life, and now I’m supposed to remember every little detail,” one of those friends recalled saying at a Junior Lifeguard program. “They’re going to be all over me.”

Additionally, Ford never named Kavanaugh specifically in the therapist notes she provided to the Post. She only told the therapist that she was assaulted by students “from an elitist boys’ school.”

She wouldn’t name names to her therapist in confidentiality, but tossed it out there for her “beach friends” to discuss with everyone … on the beach?

Bottom line here – her response to Mitchell’s question indicates friends on the beach encouraged her to contact her local congresswoman and the media.

Her written testimony says the exact opposite – that she contacted Feinstein and the Post and then talked with the beach people:

“I called my congressional representative and let her receptionist know that someone on the President’s shortlist had attacked me. I also sent a message to The Washington Post’s confidential tip line,” she said.

Over the next two days, I told a couple of close friends on the beach in California that Mr.Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted me. I was conflicted about whether to speak out.

The Democrats would have been much better served to find an accuser who could keep her stories straight.
