The Hollywood star Chris Pratt of Jurassic World and Guardians Of The Galaxy fame took to social media earlier this month to reveal that he listens to Mark Wahlberg’s “Bible in a Year” podcast, and that he has already reached day 221 of it.

‘Bible In A Year’ Podcast

“Here’s what I was listening to on my run portion Bible in a Year Podcast,” Pratt, 44, wrote on his Instagram Story. “Have loved using the Hallow App! What a great job, Mark Wahlberg!”

“It’ll probably be more like Bible in a year and a half but I’m doing my best,” he added.

The “Bible In A Year” podcast is presented by Ascension Press, whose website states that in it, “Fr. Mike Schmitz guides you through the entire Bible in 365 episodes.”

“Using an exclusive reading plan rooted in The Bible Timeline (a ground-breaking approach to understanding salvation history developed by Biblical scholar Jeff Cavins) you won’t just read the Bible … you’ll finally understand how all the pieces fit together to tell an amazing story that continues in your life today!” it continues.

Father Schmitz reportedly serves as the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Duluth and as Chaplain for the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Pratt’s shoutout to Wahlberg was a reference to the Father Stu star teaming up with the Hallow app to create content for it.

Pratt’s Christian Faith

Pratt has long been one of the only openly Christian stars in Hollywood. While accepting the Generation Award at the MTV Movie and TV Awards back in 2018, he famously told his fans that “God is real.”

“God is real. God loves you. God wants the best for you. Believe that. I do,” he said. “Learn to pray. It’s easy and it’s so good for your soul.”

Last year, Pratt defended his strong Christian faith.

“I sure do but that’s nothing new, that’s nothing new, you know?” Pratt told Page Six when asked about the backlash that he has received for being a believer in God.

“If I was of this world, they would love me just like that but as it is, I’ve chosen out of this world. That’s John 15:18 through 20,” Pratt continued. “That’s the way it is, nothing new, 2,000 years ago they hated him, too.”

Pratt has previously said that he found God when he was a rebellious teenager thanks to a stranger.

“In Maui, about four weeks before I was discovered to go to California, I was hanging with my buddy. I wasn’t quite old enough to drink, so we got somebody to go in and buy us some alcohol. This guy came by and was like, ‘What are you doing tonight?’” Pratt told Esquire in 2012.

“He was like, ‘I stopped because Jesus told me to stop and talk to you. He said to tell you you’re destined for great things.’ My friends came out, and I was like, ‘Hey, I’m gonna go with this guy,'” he continued. “I gave my soul to Jesus within, like, two days.”

Wahlberg’s Christian Faith

As for Wahlberg, he’s also defended his faith in the wake of facing criticism for it.

“It’s just the most important aspect of my life,” he previously told Fox News. “It’s the most important thing. It’s afforded me all the things that I’ve been able to accomplish in my life — my faith, my discipline.”

“It’s not popular in my industry, but, you know, I cannot deny my faith,” Wahlberg also acknowledged. “It’s important for me to share that with people.”

It’s rare to find celebrities who are brave enough to be open about their Christian faith these days. God bless both Pratt and Wahlberg for continuing to show the world that good Christians can be successful in Hollywood!
