Chelsea Clinton recently said she has abandoned her friendship with Ivanka Trump, and the reason why is just as you might guess: Ivanka’s father, President Donald Trump.
The daughter of the infamous Clinton family explained her reasoning, calling Ivanka ‘ complicit’ in her father Donald’s bigotry.
Clinton: “I Don’t Want To Be Friends With Someone Like That”
During the 2016 campaign, Chelsea Clinton said she was still friends with Ivanka Trump, after being friends for years.
While both were living in New York City, they had been known to go on double dates together with their husbands.
At the time, Clinton had said that despite their “very different views” on who should become President, it did not make a dint on their friendship.
Both daughters were involved in their parent’s presidential campaigns, with Chelsea introducing her mother Hillary at the DNC, and Ivanka introducing her father at the RNC that year.
However, speaking to Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live,” she confirmed this was no longer the case, and hadn’t been for a long while.
Clinton told Cohen that she hadn’t spoken to Ivanka since 2016.
“I have no interest in being friends with someone who is not only complicit, but actively taking part in this administration’s everyday collision of cruelty and incompetence,” Clinton said:
We were in touch at the beginning of the campaign, but it’s just really hard when there’s someone who’s actively embracing their candidate, whether it’s their father or not, who is trafficking in racism and sexism and anti-Semitism and Islamophobia and homophobia and transphobia and conspiracy theories and lies, and is so fundamentally corrupt.
At some point, I don’t think they’re the same by any standard, but I think she’s more than complicit as anyone who has worked for him for so long by definition is, and I don’t want to be friends with someone like that.
The President Doesn’t Care About “Actually Saving American Lives”
Chelsea Clinton also recently talked about Ivanka’s dad, President Trump.
She described the President as a “racist, Islamophobic, anti-Semitic, misogynistic, transphobic human being,” on a podcast with Jemele Hill.
“I knew it was going to be a hall of horrors because he told us so much of what he would do. But the collision of like the cruelty and like the bigotry that is so defined him his whole life, like with just the incompetence, I think has been devastating,” Clinton continued.
President Clinton’s daughter didn’t save her vitriol for the powerful, either. She went after Trump voters:
Even if you were just “voting because [you] wanted a tax cut,” President Trump would still be given “a lot of power to manifest those, like, hateful bigoted values into the world.”

Juanita Broaddrick, who famously accused Bill Clinton of sexually assaulting her in 1978, while Bill was the Governor of Arkansas, saw the interview and didn’t hold back her feelings.
