Chelsea Clinton Caught Spreading Fake News on Twitter

Again, Chelsea?

Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton once again found herself in an embarrassing situation on Twitter. It seems like Clinton can’t help but embroil herself in Twitter spats, only to come out looking like a dunce.

The latest embarrassment is worse than most. This morning Chelsea tweeted out a link to a news story about the State House in Michigan passing a bill that allows emergency response personnel to deny service to gay individuals. The first problem: The story was dated.

Chelsea quickly deleted that tweet, only to defend herself immediately after:

Hmmm…very curious. If Chelsea didn’t regret the tweet, why did she delete it? Why not keep it, if it’s so appalling?

It gets worse, though. It turns out the story Chelsea tweeted is fake news.

The Weekly Standard, citing Stanford University Law School professor Michael W. McConnell, reports, “The exact same law has been on the books at the federal level and in many states for almost twenty years, and no such claim has ever been made. And if it were made, it would lose in court, probably unanimously.”

To recap: Chelsea Clinton not only posted old news acting like it was new, but she posted a fake story and tried to defend it as real.

And some Democrats want her to run for office someday?

Personally, I hope she does. It will be entertaining to watch Chelsea’s opponent wipe the floor with her.
