Back in December, we reported that the former “Wonder Years” star Danica McKellar had revealed that the former “Full House” star Candace Cameron Bure, who has long been known as one of the only conservative Christian stars in Hollywood, had helped her find God later in life. Now, Cameron Bure is opening up about this publicly for the first time.
Cameron Bure Speaks Out On McKellar
While walking the red carpet at the 31st annual Movieguide Awards over the weekend, Cameron Bure, 47, was asked about helping McKellar, 49, become a Christian.
“It’s been incredible. It humbles me when anyone finds the joy and love in Jesus that I know of, and so many people know of,” Cameron Bure told Fox News of McKellar’s spiritual growth. “But when it’s someone that you didn’t even quite realize was searching and you had an impact, it’s even more special.”
“I’m glad she just asked me questions, that was like the most amazing thing she was willing and open to ask and start her journey,” she added.
McKellar’s Spiritual Journey
McKellar opened up about her own spiritual journey to Fox News in October of last year.
“I would not say I’ve embraced religion so much as relationship. I’ve found my faith, and it’s been an amazing life changer,” McKellar said at the time. “I have this sense that everything’s going to be fine in a way that I never really had before.”
“I am so grateful to Candace Cameron Bure for bringing me into this era of my life. She really had a lot to do with it,” she continued. “Also my dad. He’s been a believer for a long time. It’s just been a beautiful, beautiful gift, and it feels so good, and I want everyone to have that feeling.”

McKellar Thanks Cameron Bure
McKellar got the chance to thank Cameron Bure publicly while appearing on her podcast in December of 2022.
“Candace, I don’t wanna brush over the huge, huge impact that you’ve had on my life this year,” McKellar said at the time, according to CBN News. “I don’t even know how to call that like friendship, it’s more than that. Because of you helping me to find my relationship with God and Jesus, it’s been like a revolution in my life. It’s been a revelation in my life.”
“You gave me this Bible that I read all the time and I love it so much and I go to church now and I just, I talk to Jesus all the time every day. It’s unbelievable,” she continued. “And you were like my guide. You were just an angel in my life and you still are. And I just wanna thank you for that publicly.”
“I want people to feel the joy that I have found this year,” McKellar explained. “I want people to feel that and I want them to not feel alone. I want them to feel the Holy Spirit with them and feel that support and love and comfort.”
Cameron Bure responded in her typically humble way.
“That’s my wish right along with you,” Cameron Bure replied. “Thank you for sharing your journey of faith and I’m in prayer alongside you always and encouraging you to share that because there are moments of hope for people and you don’t have to have it all together or know all the answers.”
“You just have to take one step every day,” she added. “I just love seeing it and I’m just cheering you on along the way.”
Cameron Bure’s Christian Faith
Cameron Bure has long been open about her strong Christian faith.
“My faith is just my life, it’s a part of it. It naturally flows from me, and I feel like I’ve navigated my entire career differently than most people have,” she previously said, according to Movieguide. “The goal for me isn’t necessarily the next project or making more money or being a bigger star. I’ve always chosen the things that are true to me and that I’ve wanted to do.”
It’s rare to find conservative Christian stars in Hollywood, so God bless Cameron Bure for continuing to use her platform to spread the word of God. We applaud her for helping McKellar to find God, and we hope to see many more celebrities become Christians in the future!
