California Homeowner Flips The Script On Armed Intruders By Pulling Out His Own Gun

California Gun

A homeowner from Los Angeles, California managed to flip the script on two armed intruders trying to break into his home last weekend when he shocked them by pulling out his own gun to defend himself.

Homeowner Defends Home In Shootout

Harrowing surveillance footage that has since gone viral shows a masked intruder run up to the male homeowner, whose name has not been released to the public, and pull a gun on him as he tried to unlock his front door. Thinking fast, the homeowner pulled out his own gun, and a shootout ensued between him and the two intruders.

Unfortunately for the two wannabe home invaders, however, this homeowner was willing to die to protect what was inside his house.

“I guess they decided to try to come at me and come in the house but I have a five-month-old baby and a wife and a nanny in the house and that wasn’t going to happen,” the homeowner told ABC7 7.

“There was nothing in my house that was worth dying for,” he added. “But I was willing to die for my family.”

Shootout Ensues

The shootout occurred at around 7:30pm on Saturday, and the surveillance video opens with the homeowner walking up to his front door as he looks for his house keys. It’s then that the two intruders jump his gate, and one of them runs up to the homeowner and his front door.

“Out of nowhere I felt someone run up behind me, put something to my back, put a pistol to my back and somebody running up,” the homeowner recalled.

Without missing a beat, the homeowner threw the cup of tea that he was holding at his attacker, giving him time to pull out his own weapon. He then opens fire on the intruders, who immediately try to flee as one of them fires back at the homeowner. Nobody appears to have been injured, but while the two intruders got away, the homeowner is confident that they’ll be caught.

“It’s a matter of time before these people get caught,” he said. “I think they should just pick a new career before they do end up in jail.”

Homeowner Feels ‘Unsafe’ In Los Angeles

In another interview, the homeowner doubled down on having no regrets about defending his family with his gun.

“Horrible, absolutely horrible. Completely unsafe,” the homeowner told KOLN. “I have a 5-month-old baby. I feel unsafe, but I will take matters into my own hands. I have, and I will continue to do so.”

Capt. Aaron Ponce with the Los Angeles Police Department claimed to reporters that he’s never seen such a “brazen” burglary attempt in this particular area of the city.

“I have not seen that since I have been here,” he said. “I don’t recall any such event like that… where suspects came into somebody’s yard and approached them in that manner and certainly not in that neighborhood.”

The homeowner, however, disagrees, as he said that his home was also broken into back in June, and those perpetrators also have yet to be caught. He’s now calling on the LAPD to do more to keep his community safe.

This, of course, comes as crime is spiking in liberal-run cities all over the country, with Los Angeles being a prime example of one of them. We applaud this homeowner for taking matters into his own hands and exercising his Second Amendment rights to protect his family!

  1. I give the homeowner five stars for protecting his family and home! I guess if these people who think they can just go anywhere and break into a home with no consequences they can see what they can get away with! They have no regard for life I am guessing! So again I am proud of that man for protecting his family above all else! My husband is one of those too, plus he is a retired former Colorado Mounted Ranger!
Although we do have a German Shepard who some people refuse to get out of their vehicle until we get our dog away from their vehicle, as they are deathly afraid of him! Good Boy!
