A Boston-area mayor has vowed never to drink Sam Adams again after the brewery’s co-founder thanked President Donald Trump for his corporate tax cut plans.
This, of course, means that Sam Adams’ sales are set to go through the roof.
Joseph Curtatone, mayor of Somerville, Mass., announced Monday on Twitter that he will “never drink Sam Adam’s [sic] beer again” after John Koch, co-founder of the Boston Beer Company and brewer of Sam Adams, dined with Trump and thanked him for his tax cuts.

In two subsequent tweets, Curtatone accused Sam Adams of being “complicit profiteers of Trump’s white nationalist agenda” and harped on Trump’s “cruel and inhuman immigration enforcement policy.” Somerville is a sanctuary city and Curtatone has repeatedly stood in defiance of American immigration law.
We need to hold these complicit profiteers of Trump’s white nationalist agenda accountable ! https://t.co/UCywb9I7xE

Hey Jim Koch! While you were thanking Trump for your tax break, did you happen to express any concern for the families separated under his cruel and inhumane immigration enforcement policy? @SamuelAdamsBeer https://t.co/UCywb9I7xE

Meanwhile, in reality, sane people can see that Koch was absolutely right to thank Trump. Trump’s corporate tax cuts, as Koch pointed out at the dinner, which was attended by a dozen other executives of large corporations, have effectively leveled the playing field for American breweries:
“I mean, Americans — I’m the largest American-owned brewery at 2 percent market share. We were paying 38-percent taxes … and competing against people who were paying 20. And now we have a level playing field, and we’re going to kick their a–,” said Koch, according to a White House transcript.
As with everything Trump has done in office, he enacted the corporate tax cuts with America’s best interests in mind. But Curtatone, along with dozens of other liberal politicians, care more about the perceived “rights” of illegal immigrants than they do the American economy and free enterprise.
Of course, Koch and Sam Adams don’t have anything to worry about. As we’ve seen time and time again, liberal boycotts of pro-Trump products always result in booming business. Now might be a good time to buy stock in the Boston Beer Company.
