Biden Is Sufficiently Far-Left for Progressives to Back Him In 2024

Midterm Success Has Democrats Taking a Second Look at Biden in 2024

After Democrats managed to turn back the “red wave” in the midterm election, focus has naturally turned to the 2024 election.

But not just on the Republican side. The Hill reveals that the far-left is seemingly happy with Joe Biden, and they’re no longer looking for a replacement.

While Biden has long said he would run again, there have always been rumblings that he wouldn’t be up to the job or wouldn’t be left-wing enough to satisfy the increasingly radical left wing of the party. That no longer seems to be the case.

Biden All In on Far Left Agenda

The Hill talked to a few luminaries of the left-wing space about it.

Far-left Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) is the leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. In a recent interview with Politico, Jayapal stated, “He was not my first or second choice for president, but I am a convert.” And further, “I never thought I would say this, but I believe he should run for another term and finish this agenda we laid out.”

Jayapal, who is just as left-wing as the “Squad,” isn’t alone. Cooper Teboe is a far-left Democrat Strategist who sees a silencing of those who might have doubts about Joe Biden.

He said, “I think what the midterms did accomplish is they silenced that. Even if Biden was running for reelection, I think we could have seen a few people run against him. But now, I think he’s got a clear field.”

In other words, don’t look for California’s Gavin Newsom or the world’s oldest man, socialist Bernie Sanders, to run against Biden’s left.

While Joe Biden has always been a New England liberal, the far-left wing of the Democrat Party has clearly pulled him over. The first two years of his presidency are proof of that.

Chaos at the wide open U.S. southern border continues to be a huge problem.

Fox News reports that in fiscal year 2022, there have been 2.3 million migrant encounters. That is well over the 1.7 million reported for FY2021. There is no indication that FY2023 will be any better, with 230,000 encounters reported just for October 2022 alone.

To give you an idea of how radically left Biden is on the border, even Bill Clinton recently said there’s a limit to how many immigrants America could take.

Recently, Biden suggested banning all semi-automatic weapons – one of the most radical gun control agendas in decades, if not ever.

On the spending front, the Inflation Reduction Act quickly became the Tax, Healthcare, and Climate bill after a report from CBS News declared that a group of economists stated that the massive $740 billion would do very little to curb inflation.

But it was music to the ears of progressives, and addressed all of their pet issues. The list goes on, but the point is: Biden is far left enough for the far-left.

Long Way To 2024

There may still be one bump in the road to Joe Biden’s nomination and reelection. That is the fact that if he is reelected, he will be 83 years old at the time he is sworn in. Should he serve an entire second term, he would leave office on January 20, 2029 at 87 years old.

Former President Donald Trump has already thrown his hat in the ring for 2024, and he would be slightly younger upon taking office at age 78. And while Trump continues to enjoy huge Republican support and still leads in polling, a possible golden ticket for Republicans going up against Biden in 2024 could be a much younger Ron DeSantis.

But for now, the guy for Democrats is Joe Biden.

Jonathan Kott, former adviser to Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) had this to say: “Those calls died down because Bidenism proved to be a winning strategy during the midterms and he was the most successful president, legislatively, of our generation. I don’t think those calls pick up again, because President Biden is the only Democrat who can win in 2024.”

That’s the Democrats’ story and apparently, they are sticking to it.
