Biden Floats Possibility of Nominating Obama to the Supreme Court

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, presidential hopeful Joe Biden suggested he’d support the idea of nominating Barack Obama to the Supreme Court.

Yes, the constitutional law scholar who shredded the Constitution during his two terms as President.

Host Stephen Colbert presented the former vice president with the proposition during a lightning round of questions.

“Would you appoint him to the Supreme Court?” the late-night comedy host asked.

“Hell … yes” Biden replied. “I don’t think he’d do it, but I’d …”

The pair moved on to quickly discussing the merits of an Obama nomination, fully indicating that this wasn’t a joke proposal.

Colbert offered his view of a legitimate argument in favor of Obama’s ‘credentials’: “He was a constitutional professor at the University of Chicago.”

Biden declared: “No, no, I understand. He’s fully qualified, fully qualified.”

It’s laughable to watch Colbert make such a ridiculous suggestion while realizing this is a guy liberals fully believe to be an intellectual and journalist for their movement.

Obama wasn’t qualified to run a lemonade stand in 2008. Bill Clinton famously quipped that he should have been fetching him coffee. He did very little to improve his credentials during that time. Yet here we are suggesting he should have a seat on the highest court in the land.

Further emphasizing the fact that this was not a joke is the conversation that follows in which Biden expressly states that he’s joking. That conversation involves former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Colbert inquires as to whether Biden has ever “asked Michelle Obama for advice?”

To which, Biden responds, “Only to be my vice president.”

The liberal audience erupts in cheers at the thought, but Biden tamps down the fire saying, “I’m only joking! Michelle, I’m joking. That was a joke.”

The only joke here is the notion that either one of the Obamas are qualified for the roles Colbert and Biden are suggesting.

During the interview, Biden suggests that his gaffes – including forgetting Obama’s name recently – aren’t really that big of a deal.

“Any gaffe that I have made – and I’ve made gaffes like every politician I know has – have been not about the substance of issue but about other – I’m trying to talk about what other people have done,” he said.

Last week, the Washington Post accused Biden of completely fabricating a moving war story.
