Biden Admin Mocked For Defending Kamala Amid Plummeting Poll Numbers, Reports Of ‘Dysfunction’ In The White House

The Biden administration led a desperate attempt to voice support for Kamala Harris even as her approval ratings continue to plummet and reports have surfaced indicating the White House is trying to distance itself from the unpopular Vice President.

The Biden administration is being mocked for leading a desperate attempt to voice support for Kamala Harris with a series of tweets promoting her ‘vital’ work, even as her approval ratings continue to plummet and reports have surfaced indicating the White House is trying to distance itself from the unpopular Vice President.

The urgency in playing defense for Harris seems to be an acknowledgment that she is currently experiencing some very serious public perception issues.

A USA TODAY/Suffolk University poll released just last week shows Harris with a mere 28% approval rating, and 51% disapproving of her performance since taking office, putting her 23 percentage points underwater.

Survivors of the Titanic think that is ridiculous.

Making matters worse is a CNN report that ran Sunday which gleaned information from interviews with nearly three dozen officials and aides with inside knowledge indicating the President’s team and Harris’s team are completely dysfunctional and distancing themselves from each other.

Kamala Harris’ Team Not Happy

The CNN report shows President Biden’s team trying desperately to stay away from Kamala’s toxic poll numbers behind the scenes.

The news network indicates the Biden administration is frustrated by Harris’ appalling poll numbers, disturbed by her “awkward” laugh when discussing serious matters, and even hinting that the President is considering nominating her to the Supreme Court to make room for a new Vice President.

Defenders of the VP, according to CNN, have had to “bat down the Aaron Sorkin-style rumor that Biden might try to replace her by nominating her to a Supreme Court vacancy,” a discussion that “has already reached top levels of the Biden orbit.”

The first paragraph of the peace is remarkable coming from a pro-Biden/Harris network the likes of CNN:

Worn out by what they see as entrenched dysfunction and lack of focus, key West Wing aides have largely thrown up their hands at Vice President Kamala Harris and her staff — deciding there simply isn’t time to deal with them right now, especially at a moment when President Joe Biden faces quickly multiplying legislative and political concerns.

CNN also notes that Harris’ awkward behavior has become an issue with the White House.

“Biden’s team was annoyed that Harris fumbled answers about the border, including when she gave an awkward, laughing response about not visiting it during a spring interview with NBC’s Lester Holt,” they write.

For their part, the team defending Vice President Kamala Harris believes the White House has “repeatedly failed her and left her exposed.”

One former aide told CNN that others have criticized Biden’s team for protecting Pete Buttigieg from criticism more than they do his Veep.

“It’s hard to miss the specific energy that the White House brings to defend a White man, knowing that Kamala Harris has spent almost a year taking a lot of the hits that the West Wing didn’t want to take themselves,” the aide explained.

White House Mocked For Defending Kamala

In what was a widely mocked move, multiple members of the administration took to social media following the CNN report attempting to express support for Kamala Harris publicly.

Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh tweeted that she is “honored” to work with Harris as the Vice President is “delivering results for the American people.”

Assistant Press Secretary Rachel Palermo added that she was “proud” to work with Kamala.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki’s message on Twitter was mocked for a variety of reasons, not the least of which seems to be a backhanded way of reminding people of Kamala’s incompetence.

“For anyone who needs to hear it. @VP is not only a vital partner to @POTUS but a bold leader who has taken on key, important challenges facing the country—from voting rights to addressing root causes of migration to expanding broadband,” she wrote.

A ‘bold leader’ who has taken on and delivered the worst humanitarian crisis this generation has ever seen at the United States border?

Psaki’s tweet didn’t do much to dissuade the critics.

Radio host Erick Erickson hinted that Psaki may have intentionally been taking a swipe at Harris.

“This is such a Queen move,” he wrote. “You list the three things the Administration is failing out badly to claim Kamala is vital. Oof.”

Other social media users were quick to point out the ploy behind Psaki and the White House’s efforts to do damage control on the dysfunctional relationship between Harris and Biden.

The imploding poll numbers for Biden and Harris seem to be dragging down the entire Democrat party with them.

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll released on the same day CNN was exposing the inner working of the White House and the administration was rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic, indicates the GOP has the largest lead in the generic congressional ballot they have had since 1981.

“As things stand, if the midterm elections were today, 51 percent of registered voters say they’d support the Republican candidate in their congressional district, 41 percent the Democrat,” reads a press release from the research firm that conducted the poll.
