2020 Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said in his party’s CNN and Univision debate Sunday night that the first action he would take concerning the coronavirus outbreak is to “shut this president up right now.”
Sanders: Trump ‘Blabbering’
CNN moderator Jake Tapper asked the Vermont senator what he would do “tonight” to “save American lives.” Sanders replied that President Donald Trump was “blabbering” and said that the Commander in Chief was not listening to scientists. Sanders made this claim just hours after the President held a press conference alongside a number of America’s chief scientists and public health officials.

‘We have to shut this president up right now’
Sanders said Sunday during the debate, “Firstly, whether or not I’m president, we have to shut this president up right now. Because he’s undermining the doctors and the scientists who are trying to help the American people. It is unacceptable for him to be blabbering unfactual information, which is confusing the general public.”

Current 2020 democratic frontrunner, former Vice President Joe Biden, steered viewers to his plan on his website, which is not that dissimilar from what President Trump is already doing.
Biden and Sanders also argued over whether “Medicare for All” would have helped stop the coronavirus crisis.

Neither Bernie Nor Joe Offered to Help President Trump
Neither Dem candidate offered any support to Trump or his team, though Biden did mention the need for national unity and working together to overcome this trying moment.
Because of the outbreak, Sunday night’s debate was moved to CNN’s Washington, D.C. studio from its original location in Arizona.
