Barbra Streisand Makes Her Fans ‘Feel Sick’

Backlash against the singer and outspoken anti-Trumper continues after her controversial remarks about 'Leaving Neverland' and Michael Jackson

Singer and actress Barbra Streisand, saying she “absolutely” believes the accusations of two men who say Michael Jackson molested them when they were children, also went on to say, “His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he [had] or whatever DNA.”

Then she said, “It didn’t kill them.”

“You can say ‘molested,’ but those children, as you heard [the now-grown-up men] say — they were thrilled to be there. They both married and they both have children, so it didn’t kill them,” Streisand continued during an interview with The Times of London on Friday.

The singer was offering her comments about HBO’s recently aired documentary, “Leaving Neverland,” which tells the story of two men who say that the King of Pop sexually abused them as youngsters.

(This is the same Streisand, by the way, who in late 2018 said she was still mulling her own exit from this country given that Donald Trump was elected president of the United States.)

Now both her fans and non-fans alike are registering their outrage over her comments about the Michael Jackson charges.

“Oh God, no. This is horrible,” wrote on person on Twitter. “I feel sick. @BarbraStreisand is my idol and I look up to her so much. This breaks my heart that she would say this. Because this is such a wrong and hurtful thing to say. Ugh.”

Another person wrote, “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I cancel Barbra Streisand.”

Streisand, who is 76, also said she feels “bad” for both men and for the late singer himself.

“It’s a combination of feelings. I feel bad for the children. I feel bad for him,” she said, as Fox News also reported.

She went on to say she places blame at the foot of the two men’s parents, because “who would allow their children to sleep with him?”

“These comments by [Barbra] Streisand on Michael Jackson’s sexual abuse accusers are sick and [say] volumes about Hollywood’s demented and perverted thinking,” another Twitter user commented.

“Who knew in 2019 I would throw my love for … Streisand into a dumpster, but here I am,” wrote another.

“Survivors of sexual abuse have higher rates of suicide, eating disorders, drug addiction, repeat victimization later in life, etc. Child sexual abuse literally does kill people,” one person also argued.

“I have loved Barbra Streisand for my whole life. No more,” read another comment.

After the film “Leaving Neverland” aired, the Jackson family estate denied all wrongdoing on behalf of Michael Jackson.

The estate sued HBO for $100 million and declared, “Michael Jackson is innocent, period.”
