AOC Equates Republicans to Her Sexual Assault Abuser, Says She Thought She Would Die During Capitol Riots

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), during a lengthy Instagram Live video Monday night, tearfully revealed that she is a survivor of sexual assault.

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), during a lengthy Instagram Live video Monday night, tearfully revealed that she is a survivor of sexual assault.

She then proceeded to sacrifice the somberness of the moment by comparing Republican senators Ted Cruz (TX) and Josh Hawley (MO) to her abuser over their alleged role in the Capitol riots.

AOC provided no details regarding her assault but was willing to use it to make a political statement.

“The reason I’m getting emotional in this moment is because these folks who tell us to move on, that it’s not a big deal, that we should forget what’s happened, or even telling us to apologize, these are the same tactics of abusers,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

“I’m a survivor of sexual assault, I haven’t told many people that in my life,” she added. “As a survivor, I struggle with the idea of being believed.”

“The reason why I think it’s important to share is because so many of the people who helped perpetrate and who take responsibility for what happened in the Capitol are trying to tell us all to move on,” AOC said. “And they’re trying to tell us to forget about what happened.”

AOC Compares Republicans to Sexual Assault Abuser

The point of linking the Capitol riots to her story of sexual assault, according to AOC, is to note that “when we go through trauma, trauma compounds on each other.”

She pointed out how Cruz and Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) have demanded she apologizes for falsely claiming the Texas senator “almost” had her murdered during the January 6th riots.

“These are the tactics of abusers. Or rather, these are the tactics that abusers use,” she said.

For those keeping score at home, AOC has now accused Ted Cruz of attempted murder and using the tactics of a person who sexually assaulted her.

Ocasio-Cortez also relayed how she truly felt like she was going to die during the riots and thought her last moment was when a Capitol police officer came knocking on her office door.

“Then I just start to hear these yells of, ‘Where is she? Where is she?,’” Ocasio-Cortez said describing how the scenario played out. “This was the moment where I thought everything was over.”

That’s when the dramatics really kicked in.

“If this was the journey that my life was taking, that I felt that things were going to be OK,” she claimed. “I had fulfilled my purpose.”

She also openly wondered if the Capitol police officer had purposefully put her at risk and remained apprehensive about him even afterward.

“He was looking at me with a tremendous amount of anger and hostility,” said AOC. “We couldn’t read if this was a good situation or a bad situation.”

Something Is Wrong

Prior to this Instagram Live chat, AOC also went on a tirade in which she accused the GOP caucus of harboring “legitimate white supremacist sympathizers.”

She used the “white supremacist” label to make a point about health care as well, prompting Rep. Burgess Owens (R-UT) to accuse Ocasio-Cortez of using the term “to gaslight anyone who doesn’t agree with them.”

Spectator editor Amber Athey took issue with Ocasio-Cortez using her sexual assault claim to score political points, calling it a “gross manipulation” and asserting “AOC should be ashamed.”

“AOC used her alleged trauma as a cudgel against her political opponents,” Athey said. “She has weaponized her alleged experience to silence anyone who criticizes her and even went so far as to compare them to the person or people who abused her.”

“This type of behavior cheapens sexual assault.”

Another issue may involve the New York socialist’s mental state following the Capitol riots.

Her paranoia – seeing white supremacists in the GOP caucus, thinking Cruz tried to murder her, and now, equating Republicans to the person who she says sexually assaulted her – is a sign that she indeed suffered some sort of trauma over the incident.

We sincerely hope she gets the help she needs to better cope with the many issues at hand.
