Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) tweeted an ominous message to “expand the court” following the successful confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court.
Barrett was sworn in as the newest Supreme Court justice following a 52-48 vote. Clarence Thomas administered the constitutional oath to her Monday night.
In a short response, AOC (D-NY) wrote: “Expand the court.”
She followed up with another message claiming Republicans actions in carrying out their Constitutional duty was a form of “bullying” and that her party needed to play dirty in response.
“Republicans do this because they don’t believe Dems have the stones to play hardball like they do,” she asserted. “And for a long time they’ve been correct.”
“But do not let them bully the public into thinking their bulldozing is normal but a response isn’t,” Ocasio-Cortez added. “There is a legal process for expansion.”

AOC Not the Only One Demanding to “Expand the Court”
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), a fellow member of the ‘Squad’ retweeted AOC’s message and repeated the same exact message: “Expand the court.”
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) issued a more forceful threat to pack the Supreme Court.
“We are going to take back the White House [and] Senate next week with a resounding mandate from the people to fight back against Trump’s illegitimately stacked judiciary,” she wrote.
“We must expand the Court if we’re serious about the transformational change the people are crying out for.”

Tlaib is incorrect that Americans are ‘crying out’ for any radical measures to transform the Supreme Court.
A poll conducted by the New York Times and Siena College in the past week alone shows a massive 58 percent of voters oppose the extreme move, while just 31 percent support it.
Remember that Republicans have lost 6 of the last 7 popular votes, but have appointed 6 of the last 9 justices.
By expanding the court we fix this broken system and have the court better represent the values of the American people.

Where Does Joe Biden Stand on Court Packing?
Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has attempted to play coy with his stance on court-packing, an extreme measure designed to water down the judicial system.
Earlier this month, he claimed voters had no right to know his stance on the matter.

Last week, however, he said he would explore the idea of a commission to study judicial reforms that go “well beyond” expanding the Supreme Court.
“If elected, what I will do is I’ll put together a national commission of — bipartisan commission of scholars, constitutional scholars, Democrats, Republicans, liberal, conservative,” Biden said.
“And I will ask them to over 180 days come back to me with recommendations as to how to reform the court system because it’s getting out of whack.”

Ocasio-Cortez will certainly help nudge Biden towards court-packing, having recently explained yet again that she would do her best to force him towards more extreme progressive platforms.
“Is my job to push the Democratic Party? Absolutely,” she said in an interview with Jake Tapper. “And that has been a part of my role since I have been elected.”
Her very first order of business might be in plain sight: “Expand the court.”
