AOC Claims Police, Others ‘Supported’ Rioters During January 6 Capitol Riot

Far-left Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC) claims she’s never felt safe at the Capitol since the January 6 riot, and even made the eyebrow-raising suggestion that “people on the inside” – such as the police – were sympathetic to the protesters and “opened the doors” for them.

Her comments, made in a late-night rant to a reporter Wednesday, are sure to ignite interest amongst those who have accused the Capitol police of aiding the protesters on that day.

Fact-checkers have consistently rated claims of assistance by the Capitol police as false, with CNN even labeling it an “enduring lie” regarding the “insurrection.”

“I have no idea what happened to the people on the inside, who were very clearly sympathetic with what was going on, and opening the doors wide open for that,” AOC said. “And I’m supposed to sit here and pretend like none of that ever happened?”

The reporter tweeted that AOC “tells me she’s never felt safe in the Capitol, citing reports of police and members of Congress working with insurrectionists on January 6th.”

AOC Says Capitol Police Sympathetic to January 6 Rioters

It’s quite possible that AOC was speaking figuratively during her arm-flailing rant.

In a follow-up comment, Ocasio-Cortez shared a clip of her conversation with the reporter and further insinuated the Capitol police make her feel unsafe.

“Remember how there was tons of footage and evidence of officers [and] others inside on 1/6 supporting insurrectionists, but then everyone decided it was too politically risky to investigate thoroughly so they brushed under the rug and now we still have no idea who or what is safe?” she wondered.

It’s difficult to ascertain what AOC (D-NY) is trying to accomplish here. She’s seemingly made a statement about the Capitol police that has been mocked in the media as a conspiracy theory.

And she’s doing so in an attempt to once again garner sympathy because of how scared she was – and is – at the Capitol.

Again, I concede she may not be referring to literally “opening the doors,” but her statements clearly suggest the police were perhaps, in the very least, lax in their response because they sympathized with the protesters.

Thought She Was Going to Die

This isn’t the first time AOC has claimed she was fearful of the Capitol police during or after the January 6 protest.

During an Instagram live video last February in fact, the socialist Democrat suggested she thought her last moment on Earth was going to be when a Capitol police officer came knocking on her office door, causing her to wonder if he had purposefully put her at risk.

“This was the moment where I thought everything was over,” AOC said. “If this was the journey that my life was taking, that I felt that things were going to be OK. I had fulfilled my purpose.”

After insinuating she had been led there to allow protesters to take over, she noted how mean the officer appeared.

“He was looking at me with a tremendous amount of anger and hostility,” she added. “We couldn’t read if this was a good situation or a bad situation.”

Last May, Ocasio-Cortez revealed that she was in therapy to learn to cope with the “extraordinarily traumatizing” Capitol protest.

She also accused Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) of trying to have her “killed” and suggested anyone downplaying her trauma was comparable to sexual abusers.
