AOC Claims Abortion Bans Are a Means to Ensure Women Are ‘Conscripted’ to Work Against Their Will

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) believes restrictions on abortion access are a means to “force women to give birth” so they are “conscripted” into the workforce.

The New York lawmaker’s comments emerged during a House Oversight Committee hearing about abortion.

In an effort to maintain her stranglehold on the title of least intelligent person ever elected to Congress, AOC spoke about how abortion is a means to keep the poor poor and allow greedy corporations to maintain their workforce.

Corporations that are falling all over themselves to pay for abortions, mind you, rather than, say, more maternity leave or benefits for mothers.

“Forcing poor and working-class people to give birth against their will, against their consent, against their ability to provide for themselves or their child is a profound economic issue,” she argued before the committee.

“It certainly is a way to keep a workforce, basically, conscripted.”

AOC: Women Are Being ‘Conscripted’ Into the Workforce

I’ve taken the liberty of analyzing AOC’s comments on women being “conscripted” into the workforce so you don’t have to.

The first observation is that the word itself is two syllables longer than words the congresswoman typically knows the definition of, meaning “conscripted” is almost assuredly a left-wing buzzword she picked up while pretending to study at Boston University.

The second observation is that her argument, much to her chagrin, makes no sense. An abortion means a woman would have a relatively quick turnaround time and be back to work within days. Giving birth means maternity leave and extended time off caring for the child.

I mean, Pete Buttigieg had to take about two months off from his job and his children were adopted.

So, wouldn’t that mean all these corporations who responded to the Roe v. Wade reversal by saying they’d pay for women to travel across state lines to commit abortion are the ones actually trying to ‘conscript’ women into the workforce?

Turns out, her argument would later branch off into a suggestion of guaranteed healthcare. Behold, as AOC ping-pongs her way from liberal buzzword to liberal buzzword.

“Abortion rights are a class struggle too,” she wrote on Twitter.

“When the powerful force people to give birth against their will, they trap millions into cycles of economic setback and desperation. Especially in a country without guaranteed healthcare,” AOC continued. “And desperate workers are far easier to exploit.”

Just an Absolute Work of Art

If you tasked some of Hollywood’s greatest writers with creating a character that is perpetually befuddled and somehow stumbles their way into Congress, carrying on a multi-year legacy of saying some of the most insane things one could possibly think of, they would never come up with something quite as entertaining as AOC.

And in this week’s episode, they even decided to put her in Steve Urkel’s glasses in an attempt to make her comments seem smarter.

Comedy gold, Jerry!

Remember the episode where AOC mimed her way through allegedly being handcuffed by police? Get that woman a SAG membership.

Just last week AOC argued that young people aren’t having children due to the “burdens of capitalism,” and as a result, we “need” more immigrants.

Wait a minute. Follow the bouncing ball here, AOC. No, no … Not that squirrel. Stay focused here.

So, you’re saying greedy capitalistic corporations are the reason women aren’t having children, yes? But … They’re also the reason they want women to have children?

I’m willing to bet when she rehearses these lines in the mirror before going public they actually make sense to her.
