Conservative author Ann Coulter believes President Trump must make a case to the American people that his border wall is the only compassionate solution to the national emergency threatening the nation.
That’s the key phrase right there: compassionate solution. Trump could steal the emotion-filled message from the Democrats by appealing straight to America’s heart when it comes to the border crisis.

In an exclusive interview on SiriusXM Patriot’s Breitbart News Tonight, Coulter referenced the threat of jobs being stolen from legal Americans and the opioid epidemic as crises that require an emergency response.
But, she added, the President must explain it in terms that demonstrate caring for the American people.
“The wall is the compassionate solution,” Coulter explained. “The people who don’t want a wall are absolutely selfish, they are in it for themselves. They are in it for the cheap labor; they are in it for the votes.”
We need 1 thing from President Trump: A serious Oval Office speech explaining why a Wall is the only compassionate solution.

“They don’t care about African Americans, they don’t care about Hispanic Americans,” Coulter railed, referring to opponents of the wall.
“They don’t care about the most voiceless Americans out there who are dying from heroin, who can’t support their families because they can’t get a good paying job because they’re being undercut by illegal aliens.”
Trump Concurs, Plans to Use Humanitarian Message
Perhaps Coulter, one of President Trump’s earliest supporters but lately more of a critic as he continues to struggle to get the wall built, should deliver the speech. You can hear the passion in her voice when explaining why security at the southern border is such an essential goal in America.
She went on to explain the threat of the heroin crisis and why opioid addictions and death are “100 percent a problem of not having a wall on the border.”
“70,000 Americans are dying every year,” she relayed. “That’s more than died in the entire Vietnam War. That is a national emergency.”

Reports indicate that President Trump does plan to use language portraying the wall as a more humanitarian approach for people on both sides.

Politico reports that the White House is “trying to shove off the politics of the wall, and turn the focus to what they consider the humanitarian impact.”

“Our position is very simply this: There is a humanitarian and national security crisis at the southern border,” says Vice President Mike Pence.
“What we would welcome,” Pence added, “is that Republicans and Democrats would come together around the recognition of a humanitarian and security crisis on our southern border and the need to take action.”
Trump Has Made the Case Before
It shouldn’t be difficult for President Trump to make the case that border security is the compassionate route. He’s made the argument before.
“The United States is a compassionate nation,” Trump said at the State of the Union address a year ago. “But as President of the United States, my highest loyalty, my greatest compassion, and my constant concern is for America’s children, America’s struggling workers, and America’s forgotten communities.”

In one of his more memorable lines, the President said: “Americans are dreamers too.”
He needs to tap into those dreamers this evening and help them envision a nation that finally adheres to law and order, that puts American workers first, that takes care of those caught up in the opioid epidemic, and shows compassion toward its citizens and legal immigrants alike.

Trump said there are good people on both sides, when referring to Charlottesville. I figure there are good people on both sides of the border, too!
Ann, you only care about your own popularity.
Illegal border crossings are at a 40 something year low for the U.S. It’s not a crisis.
Let’s get treatment for addiction and go after the drs and pharmaceutical companies that are leading many people into opiate addiction in the first place.
When a problem arises, look to yourself first for a solution. Dry up the demand, problem is much reduced.
We lost “the war” on drugs, arresting our way out of addiction, a long time ago. Much, but not all of it, has been an enormous waste of money and resources.
I also think the term “Illegal Aliens” should be reinstated to emphasize that we’re not talking about immigrants, but illegal immigrants. The Left likes to conflate the two.
At least, finally today, an article that has a modicum of sincerity and sense. There a few articles that do more than push the rhetoric of the party op-eding the article, it tiresome and boring and makes little sense. Especially, when everything is negative and filled with hate for one man.
I’ve asked this question on a number of sites that take comments. “Hey, all you flaming lib loons, other than TDS, what’s in it for you by NOT building the wall? Just how do YOU benefit from open borders? Do ANY of you have a rational answer? Crickets!
100% AGREE !!
those dying are our younger Americans who would pay into our social security and tax base and without them the whole process stops
Mrs. F posting: FINALLY!!!!! Ann Coulter has one good idea. Thanks. Yes, the wall is compassionate. Let’s hope TRUMP see your idea in time to put that spin on it.
