Amazing Mainstream Media Poll: Voters Doubt Biden’s Mental Fitness

Voter Doubt About Biden's Mental Fitness Catching Up To Democrats

As President Joe Biden gets ready to celebrate his 79th birthday on Saturday, voters appear to be having more doubts about Biden’s physical and mental fitness for the job of president.

At 11 months into his presidency, a Politico/Morning Consult poll shows that, incredibly, a minority of voters believe Biden is mentally fit.

Doesn’t Look Good For Joe

The Politico/Morning Consult poll shows that things do not bode well for Joe Biden. Of those polled, only 40% say they believe that Joe Biden is in good health, 50% do not believe his health is good.

What makes these numbers interesting is that in October 2020, prior to the election, voters believed the opposite – by a whopping 19-point margin. The fact that Joe Biden barely came out of his basement during the election may have played a part.

Taking a look at Biden’s mental acuity, the numbers are astonishing, with 46% saying Joe Biden is mentally fit for office and 48% saying no. These numbers were also vastly different in October of 2020, when voters said Joe Biden was of sound mind by a 21-point margin.

Read that again. More people believe the President of the United States is mentally unfit.

Do Democrats Have An Age Problem?

It is no secret that once someone gets elected to office and goes to Washington, there are not many things in life harder to do than to get them to pack up and leave. Currently, ten of the 12 House members that are 80 years of age and over are Democrats.

And along with Joe Biden, the top Democrat congressional leaders consist of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) who is 70, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) who is 81.

The Senate includes Diane Feinstein at 88, and Patrick Leahy at 81 who recently announced his retirement. Republicans do not appear to be immune from this as Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is considering another run that should he win, his term would expire when he is 93.

While perhaps no one wants to be discriminatory of older people, it does present a problem for Democrats. Can the people who have been in office the longest relate to the issues that younger voters care about the most?

Republican pollster Neil Newhouse says, “When you watch Biden, you get a sense that he’s just missing a beat, that he’s not what he once was. Voters are picking up on it.”
