Jussie Smollett, the left-wing Empire actor who infamously fired up the resistance movement by fabricating a politically-motivated hate crime hoax, has been found guilty on five charges of staging the attack and lying to police.
As we’re sure you’re aware by now, Smollett said he was assaulted by Trump supporters for being gay and black while his assailants were white and used slurs. The attack, he would claim, took place outside a Subway restaurant in Chicago at 2 a.m in the middle of a polar vortex.
The cherry on top of the hate hoax was Jussie Smollett’s claim that the assailants yelled “this is MAGA country” during the attack.
None of it happened.
He conducted a national television audience interview and cried – no, wept – over the attack. But it didn’t happen.
Throwback to this gem:

The charges Jussie Smollett has been found guilty of are Class 4 felonies that carry a prison sentence of up to three years.
In reality, it’s quite likely he will be placed on probation and given community service. He deserves jail time – nothing excessive – but some form of punishment not just for wasting the time and resources of the police, but for stirring up racial animus throughout the country.
Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson asked the obvious question during his opening segment Thursday night.
“How did anyone anywhere ever fall for this story even for a moment?” he asked.
“Looking back, particularly in retrospect, it was maybe the most obvious hoax ever perpetrated.”
Carlson, however, is being kind when he assumes anybody actually fell for the Jussie Smollett hate crime hoax. They didn’t.
Democrats didn’t fall for it. The media didn’t fall for it. They knew it was a lie and they just didn’t care.
Because the Jussie Smollett hoax gave them a couple of weeks and months to pretend that America is racist. And they’re racist, in their minds, because of former President Donald Trump.
That was the narrative they wanted to push from day one of his presidency. Jussie Smollett just provided the match and the gasoline to spread the racial fire.
Here is a long list of Democrats, media entities, or entertainers who pushed the Jussie Smollett hoax. It is exhaustive, but by no means complete.
Here Are The Democrats Who Pushed The Jussie Smollett Hate Crime Hoax
.@JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know. I’m praying for his quick recovery.
This was an attempted modern day lynching. No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin. We must confront this hate.
— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) January 29, 2019
There is no such thing as “racially charged.”
This attack was not “possibly” homophobic. It was a racist and homophobic attack.
If you don’t like what is happening to our country, then work to change it. It is no one’s job to water down or sugar-coat the rise of hate crimes. https://t.co/QAi0IYtSeR

“When one of the most famous black and gay men in America is not safe, the message is clearer than it has ever been.” The dangerous lies spewing from the right wing is killing & hurting our people.
Thinking of you @JussieSmollett, and my LGBTQ neighbors.

While relieved that @JussieSmollett has not suffered any permanent physical damage, I am deeply concerned by how free some people feel to attack others for who they are or who they love and the long-term damage it does to our society.
— Rep Frederica Wilson (@RepWilson) January 30, 2019
What happened to Jussie Smollett is vile and tragic; thankfully, he will recover. But hate crimes like this are happening more frequently, egged on by careless hate-filled rhetoric. We start reducing these crimes by rejecting the speech – neither can ever be accepted as normal.

1/ I’m grateful to hear that Jussie Smollett is reportedly in good condition. I hope he fully recovers. I’m not sure many of us ever will. In 2019, he was violently attacked because of his race and sexual orientation. Unfortunately, he is not alone.

My thoughts and prayers are with #JussieSmollett. Everyone deserves to live safely as their true authentic self in this city. The vicious attack on actor Jussie Smollett was an attempted modern-day lynching. I’m glad he’s safe.

From the moment #JussieSmollett came forward, there have been leaks & spin from some within the Chicago PD that have been used to discredit and undermine him. This is exactly the treatment that victims of hate crimes fear and why they often stay silent.
— Chad Griffin (@ChadHGriffin) February 13, 2019
What happened today to @JussieSmollett must never be tolerated in this country. We must stand up and demand that we no longer give this hate safe harbor; that homophobia and racism have no place on our streets or in our hearts. We are with you, Jussie. https://t.co/o8ilPu68CM
