According to police in Palmetto, Florida, a 46-year-old woman stabbed herself in the stomach with a kitchen knife three times. Why? Because of President Donald Trump.
The Smoking Gun shared the police report where the woman told authorities she was “tired of living in Trump’s country.”
When police arrived on the scene, the woman was covered in blood. When she was asked what might be wrong by the officer, she lifted her shirt where the allegedly self-inflicted wounds were visible.
“I observed three stab wounds,” the report states, also noting that she continued to bleed.
According to the officer, the woman then said, “I’m tired of living in Trump’s country; I’m tired of Trump being president.”
After EMS arrived, she was taken to Blake Medical Center and was reportedly placed under a trauma alert.
The woman’s name was redacted from the report.

Also according to the report, the woman said to the officer on the scene that she had been “Baker Acted” before.
“The Baker Act is the Florida Mental Health Act of 1971, which allows the involuntary institutionalization and examination of a person. The examination can be requested by a judge, physicians, mental health professionals and law enforcement, so long as there is evidence a person has a possible mental illness and is in danger of harming themselves or others,” reports Yahoo News.
“I strongly believe there is substantial likelihood that without care or treatment the person will cause serious bodily harm to herself and/or others,” the officer noted in the report. “I believe that [redacted] is unable to determine for herself whether examination is necessary.”
The police officer followed the woman as the was taken to the hospital by EMS and waited for her to receive treatment. She also let the police officer know that her daughter was aware of the incident and would be visiting her home that evening. Hopefully, she’ll be able to take over her sister’s care because she clearly needs it.
Since Trump’s election, there have been plenty of cases of people suffering what many refer to as “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” from celebrities to politicians–but this woman will go down in history as one of the very worst of its victims.
