Country music fans just received tragic news. Fans from all around the world just learned another artist as passed away.
A few days ago, Willie Nelson’s talented guitarist Jackie King passed away, due to a heart attack. He was 71, and made an incredible contribution to the legendary music of Willie Nelson.
They recorded dozens of albums and spent decades on the road together. He was in Nelsons’s “The Great Divide,” “King Bird,” and “Angel Eyes,” among others.
Nelson had kind words to say about his close friend:
“I think of myself more now as a songwriter than I do a guitar player because of guys like Jackie King,” [Willie] Nelson once said. “It’s humbling to be in the presence of that kind of talent.”
He had an extraordinary career, and his legacy is felt throughout the music world:
During his career, he shared stages with such guitarists as Jerry Garcia, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Les Paul, Barney Kessel, Tal Farlow, Pat Martino, Herb Ellis and Lenny Breau. In 1999, he released the solo album “Moon Magic” and recorded an as yet unreleased album with jazz pianist Marian McPartland.
Nelson just released a new song “Someone to Watch Over Me.” There’s no doubt this release was inspired by the loss of King. This is incredible!
So beautiful and touching!
Please join us in praying with Willie Nelson for the King family. He is in God’s Hand’s Now.

So sorry his friend is gone, but he will see him again. Willie sings this song beautifully.
