Willie Nelson Cancels February Tour Dates Due To Flu

According to a press release from his publicist, country music legend Willie Nelson has canceled all scheduled concerts for the month of February due to the flu.

Nelson has not performed since Jan. 6, when he ended a concert in San Diego after just one song due to breathing issues. Now, Nelson’s publicist says he needs “a few extra weeks to recover” from a bout of the flu. Fortunately, the press release also states that Nelson, 84, is moving around and looking “healthy as ever” – he’s just on doctor’s orders to rest his voice.

A quote from Nelson in the press release reads, “I will see you all down the road.”

Health issues have forced Nelson to cancel several strings of concert dates over the last few years. He canceled a handful of dates in California and across the Southwest in February 2017 due to respiratory issues. He also stopped a concert the following April in Texas after playing his opening song, “Whiskey River,” much like the January concert in San Diego.

But despite Nelson’s ongoing battle with illness, he’s still one the best of the best. Also in February 2017, his album of George Gershwin covers won a Grammy.

Nelson’s next scheduled concert is March 5th in Greenville, South Carolina. The affected February dates of his tour are as follows:

February 7 – Macon, GA @ Macon Centreplex Coliseum
February 9 – Biloxi, MS @ IP Casino Resort & Hotel
February 10 – Panama City, FL @ the Marina Civic Center
February 12 – Estero, FL @ Germain Arena
February 13 – Pompano Beach, FL @ Pompano Beach Amphitheatre
February 15 – Clearwater, FL @ Ruth Eckerd Hall
February 17 – Cocoa, FL @ Space Coast State Fair
February 18 – Saint Augustine, FL @ Saint Augustine Amphitheatre

Willie Nelson is one of the greats. We love him and are keeping him in our thoughts and prayers so he can get back to doing what he loves!
