Whoopi Goldberg Cuts Off Meghan McCain As She Grills Warnock On Court Packing – I Will ‘End The Interview’

Whoopi Goldberg Meghan

Whoopi Goldberg cut off her cohost Meghan McCain and abruptly ended an interview with Georgia Democrat Raphael Warnock as the conservative tried to ask him about court packing.

McCain Grills Warnock

“I watched the race closely, just like everyone else, and you talked a lot about unity on the campaign trail, and the need to unify the country, and unify Georgians, but progressives across the country are celebrating the election could mean adding two states, eliminating the filibuster and packing the Supreme Court with more members,” McCain began.

“Your colleague [Democratic Senator] Joe Manchin has joined the Republicans to reject those ideas, Chuck Schumer tweeted this morning, ‘Buckle Up,’ so you can understand how it’s hard for Republicans like me to believe in the spirit of unity,” she added. “I want to know, will you do the same thing as Joe Manchin and agree not to follow up on all those things?”

Warnock attempted to dodge the question by saying that he “is not focused” on the things she talked about. He then claimed that “ordinary” citizens of Georgia are more worried about COVID-19 and potentially losing their healthcare than they are about that issue.

McCain Doubles Down

McCain, however, pressed on.

“Senator, I do believe that average America care about packing the courts and I just want to know if you agree, and join Joe Manchin, and agree that you are not for that,” she said.

Warnock ignored the question once again.

“My job is to take the concerns that are being raised by my constituent, and what I’m telling you is that they’re asking about their healthcare,” he said. “They’re asking about whether they can earn a livable wage for working hard every day, and they’re wondering when in the world they’re gonna get relief after waiting for it for months.”

Goldberg Steps In

When McCain tried to press him again for a direct answer, Goldberg cut her off.

“I am actually going to end this interview,” Goldberg said as McCain tried to continue talking.

“Hey, listen,” Goldberg shouted, seemingly at McCain. “We are going to say thanks to the Senator-elect Rev. Raphael Warnock and we will be right back.”

“The View” has since tried to explain away what happened by blaming “technical issues,” with a source at ABC telling Fox News that the show had run out of time after a technical problem delayed the start of the interview.

“The View” executive producer Brian Teta claimed that people were “yelling in Whoopi’s ear” that a commercial break was needed, adding that there aren’t any problems between McCain and Goldberg.

It remains to be seen how many viewers will buy that.
