White House Calls for Congressional Investigation Into Obama Wiretapping Allegations

**UPDATE**

It now appears that FBI Director James Comey has asked the Department of Justice to publically disavow President Trump’s claims of the Obama administration wiretapping Trump Tower. So far the DOJ has refused to release any type of statement on the matter. The White House said previously today that there would be no further comment from them until the issue is resolved.  Despite what may be reported, it is not Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ call to make on whether or not to issue a statement. He recused himself from anything related to the Trump campaign and as such is taking no part in the investigation.

After yesterday’s explosive allegations about the Obama Administration wiretapping Donald Trump, the White House has demanded the truth about the situation:

White House spokesmen Sean Spicer elaborated further:

This is just common-sense. If we are investigating outrageous connections with evil and pesky Russians, then we should investigate whether or not the Obama administration used the power of the government to spy on American citizens.

These allegations are not without precedent, the Obama administration lied about and then was forced to admit that they spied upon and harassed Fox News reporter James Rosen.

The former President issued a very week “denial” of having personally ordered a wiretap of then candidate-Trump. That proves nothing. The Obama administration was caught in numerous lies, including to Congress, and was one of the least transparent administrations in modern political history. We simply cannot take their word for it.

What we need right now are answers. We as Americans deserve to know what exactly our government is up to. That includes knowing whether or not The Obama Administration spied on Donald Trump.

These accusations are just the beginning; I suspect there will be major news on this moving forward. We will bring you every update. We deserve the truth, and we won’t rest until we get it.

Many are now calling for the independent prosecutor to oversee the entire investigation. Do you support such an action? Share this and other thoughts in the comments below.
