Herman Cain, Republican presidential candidate in 2012, has seen Democrats playing the race card over and over again and he’s getting rather tired of it. In fact, he said using the race card when you’ve run out of ideas is flat-out ‘bulls***.’
Cain spoke on a panel of conservatives in Orlando recently and discussed the race-baiting.
Via the Shark Tank:
Cain said that this use of the race card by liberals was “bulls***” drawing a huge laugh and ovation from the crowd of 2000 conservatives.
(Sean) Hannity jokingly echoed what Cain said, while a snickering Senator Ted Cruz acknowledged the remark by calling it an “eloquent and comprehensive refutation”.
Watch the clip below …
Cain: Here is what they are doing folks. They are so desperate that the only thing they can do is play the race card and the class warfare card. That is bulls***, and if you’re writing for a newspaper you can quote me.
Democrats desperate to hold on to their majority in the Senate, or desperate simply to hold on to their jobs, have resorted to an unceasing effort to incite the black community into unfounded hatred of their Republican opponents.
There efforts have been so racially divisive, that The New York Times even took notice:
In the final days before the election, Democrats in the closest Senate races across the South are turning to racially charged messages — invoking Trayvon Martin’s death, the unrest in Ferguson, Mo., and Jim Crow-era segregation — to jolt African-Americans into voting and stop a Republican takeover in Washington.
The images and words they are using are striking for how overtly they play on fears of intimidation and repression. And their source is surprising. The effort is being led by national Democrats and their state party organizations — not, in most instances, by the shadowy and often untraceable political action committees that typically employ such provocative messages.
The Times offers several examples of these provocative messages, including a radio ad from Harry Reid that accuses Republican Thom Tillis of passing a gun law that “caused the shooting death of Trayvon Martin,” and another ad in Georgia that shows two black children holding signs that say “Don’t shoot.”
It isn’t just well-calculated ads that are the problem – Democrats actually believe the race-baiting that they’re spewing. The most recent evidence of this can be seen in a video clip of Mary Landrieu who charged that Obama is unpopular in the South because the people there are racist.
